You know what's "fundamentally wrong-headed"? Pretending anyone suggested the scene was unimportant.

Where do you get that? She chose death because she felt she was worthless and had no reason to live. Casting it as shame is missing most of what was going on with her at the time. I think you took much of what Asuka said at face value, and thus missed most of what was going on with her during the w...

@Bagheera: Nothing allows us to believe the Asuka of earlier episodes is introspective enough to genuinely hate herself. There are, however, strong indications that she refuses to view herself as anything but a special, superior individual. She won't allow anyone to think otherwise. As the show ...

She's too shy to talk to you. Or at least you should assume she is.

From then on, it's pretty easy, with the signature Bomby charm and all.

Though I have to say... don't date co-workers. Unless you like drama (which you shouldn't).

I'm breaking up today (after a year and a half, ish) because I have to, and I was hoping I could meet a friend afterwards to get some support... Took out my phone, looked at my contacts list... turns out I only have 1 friend, and he happens to be out of town. Everyone else is either a wo...

For instance, I'm willing to bet that there's going to be a lot of demand for lawyers with expertise in international buisness law and how to translate contracts into Chinese and English. I was going to recommend law as well, but then I read this: I just want something that doesn't requ...

Also, let's consider Rei's monotone. Is there a point where she starts calling Shinji "Ikari-kun" or is he always "Ikari-kun" to her? Because with her monotone any use of honourifics is telling.

True. Is there an example involving Unit-02? In ep. 22 or 24, perhaps?
