The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford - First of all - YEEESSSSS. This seems like a cousin of No Country for Old Men and There Will Be Blood. Overall, the movie is BLEAK in color and subject matter. Everything looks slightly washed out and all the characters are slightly off th...

This one's a slow-building melodic ambient piece to accompany a long journey through the expanse of space. Cool beans, dude. I've actually got some sloppily recorded demo material to share! :D Blue Footed Booby - Post-metalish, fast paced song. Needs some manly Scott Kelly vox and it'd ...

Like all things Townsend, it's unabashedly cheesy except when it seriouses up, and it's well up there with his better metal albums. So true. But the cheesyness is what makes him great. Personally I prefer some of his stuff with SYL to be honest. Kids chorus' singing "God Damn...

Went and saw The Adjustment Bureau . It was really good. Really? I was kinda skeptical 'bout that one. Watched I Am Legend for the first since it was in theaters. Despite the poopy ending and the weird looking vampires, I still really liked it. Well I really liked the first hour. As soon as the...

Yeah, I figured this. I didn't mind 12 Monkeys though, but La Jetee was waaay more powerful.

La jetee - WHOA. Didn't know anything before hand about this flick, just jumped into randomly on Netflix. Crazy/cool and I believe this is what inspired Gilliam's 12 Monkeys.

I also used a hell of a lot of compression, reverb, and tape distortion. Because. Overboard amounts of effects are ALWAYS necessary. The song sounds cool btw. The new Explosions in the Sky leaked!! I'm about a minute into the second song and by god I'm glad they took they're time ...

Just finished The Lovely Bones. I have really mixed feelings about it though...the first half was fabulous, but somewhere in the process the second half kinda fell apart with an ending that only half-redeemed it. It felt like there was a lot of stuff being cut out, which is also kinda odd considerin...

I still think leviathan is their best, though both Remission and Blood Mountain have a lot going for them. I agree with ya about Leviathan, but personally I'm not that big of a fan of Blood Mountain. Yeah it has some great moments on there, but some of those riffs are just....stupid. The middle...
