Re: [GAME] Neon Genesis Evangelion 2: Another Cases

@deeRez maybe a bitfield to indicate the speakers? Codewise, for each speaker y, do x += 1 << y. A bitfield printed as hex is very succinct (maybe too succinct?). 2,4,8 == Shinji, Asuka, Rei 10,20,40,80 == Misato, Gendo, Fuyu, Ritsuko 100,200,400,800 == Maya, Hyuga, Aoba, Kaji 1000,2000,4000,8000 ==...

Re: [GAME] Neon Genesis Evangelion 2: Another Cases

Very cool to hear that the speakers can be identified. Nice find! I did a quick check, and Shift-JIS lacks a char for "superscript 2" in either the Windows-31J or basic JISX-0208 flavors. So they might have made a substitution in the font, in which case Sigma will become S^2 (as a single f...

Re: [GAME] Neon Genesis Evangelion 2: Another Cases

That's amazing. So much text! The dialog files have a lot of redundancy in the form of slight variations in phrasing. Do these correspond to the speech patterns of different characters? Is there any way to retrieve the speaker for each line of dialogue, or is that information buried in the game logi...

Re: Anno statements about End of Evangelion

Episode 25 was supposed to cover the plot of the first half of EOE, but there was not enough time to produce it. Episode 26, however, was the intended end of the series. Source: http://forum.evageeks.org/thread/15478/Hideaki-Anno-x-Kazuo-Koike-October-22-2013/ Edit: To qualify what I said about Ep. ...

Re: The mechanics of souls in Evangelion?

Well, it's a distinct possibility that there are multiple Chambers of Guf. We have Lilith's chamber, for the souls of the lilim, which seems to have a nearly endless supply of souls. Then we have Adam's chamber that produced just a handful of angels. Perhaps there is also a Chamber of Guf from which...

Three weeks for recovery? Are you planning to get a severe infection or something? When I had mine removed (three were impacted) my dentist referred me to a good dental surgeon. I was back to solid food the next morning.

Re: Computer hardware

A few years ago I had a tower that I had to silence because it was going next to my TV as an A/V box. Work done: (1) buy a new quiet PSU with a big fan, (2) add a resistor to the existing case fan to slow it down, (3) cut a hole in the side of the case and install a new 120mm fan and grille, and (4)...

Re: An Ark, a Tree, and a Big Red Room

Hmm... but I though that figure was already identified as a cherubim (what with the six wings with many eyes and all), which is classically associated with expulsion from the Garden? Identifying it as Adam Kadmon seems a stretch. I'm tremendously enjoying reading this discussion but am too lazy to a...

Is the "lost film" mentioned here the original film for Episode 16?

I caught it as soon as I saw it. Because of the font.

Yotsuba's dad has a name. And he's rude to Baa-chan, doesn't even compliment her cooking. http://i705.photobucket.com/albums/ww58/BarBaz/yousuke_zpsskn7lgaq.png Though I definitely feel sympathy for the poor guy in this chapter. Sigh. I think Yotsuba's time has passed. Hope it gets a...

Asuka born in Dec 4, 2001, Kyoko died in 2005, so Asuka was still 3 unless Kyoko died after her birthday.

But she wouldn't have been chosen to be a pilot at only 3 yrs old, so either she mis-remembers, or something is askew.

Well, the whole point is to challenge the anthropocentric view of the universe (in a ridiculous and entertaining way). Compare this to Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, which suggested that mice are the superior species on Earth.

The music is a big part of what makes this short work.

I read Hallucinations from the Womb several years ago, and felt dirty afterwards. It had some of Kitoh's best art, though. Narutaru is one of my favorite manga. My only gripe is that, like most of Kitoh's stuff, it's really a collection of short stories with common themes. Most chapters ...

It might have worked as live action, maybe as a Twilight Zone episode. As it was, neither the animation or the acting captured me at all.
