IMO Being broken is worse than being damaged. I would consider someone who is broken to have something amiss and irrepairable in the core of there personality,i.e. Borderline and Narcissistic PD ect.

I don't know...I'm going to say Asuka. She screws up with her Eva and goes into catatonic depression. She seems to repress more than Shinji and once those defence mechanisms are truly broken even once she's hospitalised. Shinji breaks down a lot more but he's been through more trauma...
