I doubt that new film proposal was for a direct sequel to EoE - or at least the version of it that we know. It makes sense that the plan for EoE would be revised when it became clear that it would be the true 'end' of Evangelion. Regardless it sounds amazing, especially considering the power...

Yep. I was going to link to the Redline pilot from 2004, but it looks like it's been pulled from Youtube.
It should capture a bit of the feel, like test footage for a live action film.

We don't know the truth about how much plot they had done after 2.0, so you might be wrong or i am. And Anno was making stuff up as he goes along while making the original series, not in rebuilt, because he has had much more time. Did you read the complete records collection interviews? Anno is...

You mean they didn't have a solid idea of 4.0 by the time they were done with 2.0? (3.0 is basically the first half of 4.0) I doubt they even had a solid idea of 4.0 before they were done with 3.0. They might not even be sure now. Anno is all about making it up as he goes along. He alwa...

The interview with the Kaworu VA alludes to "cycles" of Evangelion, not the sequel theory mind you. And according to his interview he got taken aside pretty early by Anno and knew a lot of what was coming while others were kept in the dark. Maybe 3.33 wasn't just pulled out of a back ...

A reply from the 'Scenes that bothered you' thread, but I think it belongs more in here. But 3.0 wasn't really "break-necked" in its pacing. Much of the middle segment in the film was slowly and methodically paced out. Sure, the beginning was a little crazy in its pacing (w...

´ ...perhaps working on the Rebuilds put him in the mood for "EVA" again? Maybe he felt the embarrassment of his friends and colleagues working toward the conclusion of a retelling of Evangelion before he finished an adaptation of their original work. I know people probably think that the...

Now that i think about it, i could even appreciate the ironic and bittersweet nature of their "first" and (arguably) last encounter, if it didn't go so openly against the final message i've come to expect from Evangelion (going forward, no matter what, and facing all t...

Bones really love this type of ending, don't they? I just remembered
SPOILER: Show
Wolf's Rain
.
Man, what a cliche ending for Eva. This is everything I'm hoping 4.0 won't do.

How can you "secretly like" someone you've just met? Don't be so literal about the tsundere comment. I'm just referring to the character type you see coming out in that final scene. And have you've never been suddenly attracted to someone upon first meeting them? By that l...

They both seem miffed about Asuka's suggestion that he's hitting on her, which was only a product of her ego to begin with. It's typical anime tsundere stuff. She's not really annoyed. He's embarrassed. Like it's impossible for a female and a male to be friends... I didn'...

He's staring because random metaphysical deja vu feeling. There are closeups because they don't want to show the face of the mystery girl right away - it's only later that we see that it's Asuka, ie, someone whose fate the audience is probably invested in. Basic storytelling. This i...

I can't believe this is actually a question.

I suggest you finish watching the original Eva series, new production episodes and The End of Evangelion before continuing to post on this forum. Spoilers are everywhere. Also, you should because it's amazing, and what are you waiting for?

*It sucks *It's bad *I hate it But really, wow, what a conventional ending at the end of such a long (LONG), strange road. This is far from a happy ending, if you ask me. This is frustrating. It's as if Sadamoto threw everything that was being taught away; Instead of living with what...

if it hadn't been so "rushed", Shinji would actually have had time to think about WTF was going on, and we'd end up with a very different result. The point is that he didn't have that time, and didn't get to properly talk to ppl, percieving only that they hate his ass with...

The only thing that felt off about 3.0 was the pacing of the end climax, and that even felt better after a second viewing. Q does well to finally have a pacing like that of an original, underived film. 1.11 felt too much like 6 episodes crammed into 90+ minutes... I actually felt 3.0 felt like 6 ep...

If there's any residual attachment to her, it's expressed through her laying down next to him, not through that so-called caress - or hey, it might very well have been a subconcious factor somewhere deep down, this is Asuka after all, but her primary intention was most likely just to stop h...

As for Asuka's future role, i think it will revolve around something only Asuka and Shinji can do together (as someone else pointed out). Asuka and Shinji being forced to set aside their differences to co-operate on something would be a neat payoff to the running theme of everyone in th...

I think the Adam and Eve idea is more a metaphor than something that should be taken literally. They are the first man and woman in a new world, right?

Not that I agree with it.
