Re: 3x3 thread

^Funny, I thought you would give Planetes a minus because I remember you taking issue with its ending. No, I didn’t/don’t like Yu3’s ending (blimey, I’m not exactly the biggest fan of either of the Evangelion endings), but not enough to earn the whole package a thumbs-down. Bad endings often do -but...

Has anyone else here been watching King's Game ? help me decide whether i should continue the effort. Sounds like it failed the Tines test for you. Tried giving it a chance myself, but the execution of that second episode was just so, so awful. Not worth the effort. Juni Taisen : I get home from wo...

Replayed a few titles: Golden Sun: Dark Dawn (DS). Story isn’t very strong, but playing the game itself is a joy. The little puzzles are never too taxing but the variety keeps things fun. There aren’t many challenging battles unfortunately, I even managed to beat the final boss by accident . It woul...

The Ancient Magus’ Bride Girl lives with skull-headed wizard. Enchanting stuff happens. Didn’t watch the OVAs until recently, so I didn’t have to wait months and months between episodes. Sorry, Mr. Tines. As my superior states- the ending pretty much went nowhere; but the destination certainly didn...

UQ Holder! ep1 : “Happy*Material” makes yet another appearance (or the audio equalivent of) in the Negima franchise. What’s the deal with this song? Sure, it may be one of the very few fondly-remembered aspects of the original TV adaptation, but why not throw some 1000% Sparking in there instead? <...

Thanks to Joy Evangelion I was able to finish a few shows this week (instead of next week): New Game!! – Despite its bad habits (like hot-spring fondlings) the show did manage to grow up a little and explore some interesting themes as Esselfortium described . It also gave us a fitting, bittersweet e...

Crunchy UK goes straight from Onee-chan ga kita to OneRoom , which rules (OPM) out. Yup, Britlanders need to go to Daisuki.net for OPM; ideally before the site dies at the end of October. Sad, that. shiny pieces of Rei un-birth. Say what you want about Phantom World , it is at least damn pretty to ...

Re: Last Movie You Watched

Raiders of the Lost Ark – Hasn’t aged well. Found myself almost dozing off at parts. The story behind the still fantastic face-melting special effect is more interesting than the film itself. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade – Has aged better. Good flow to the story, decent action, the humour hit...

^Pretty much this. Just watched season 2’s episode 5; we get a bit of business at the start: characters taking on new responsibilities; dealing with deadlines; juggling work with home life; learning to accept input and help from others… then it ends with 20 year old women who look like 14 year old g...

Watched a few things back in Britland during a short holiday: The Tale of Princess Kaguya . Caught this on FilmFour. Not a huge fan of the art style, but it at least lets the film stand out amongst the rest of the Ghibli library in terms of visuals if nothing else. Slow start, but was firmly hooked ...

Re: Last Movie You Watched

War for the Planet of the Apes . The film isn’t nearly as grandiose as the title suggests, I was expecting a massive war between humans and apes with conflicts in both camps etc., but the story is much smaller and a more personal one for Caesar. It’s a revenge plot which later turns into a prison-b...

^ADV always seemed at their best when doing comedy dubs. We’ve reached the 3rd/4th episode week of the current season. That means Tines test results are in: AHO-GIRL . Yoshiko manages to amuse me despite her loudness and annoying behaviour, maybe it’s the 12 minute run time of 4 skits per episode th...

Saw Homecoming . s'alright. I liked Spidey's still getting into the swing of things bumbling. Having him jump around a sub-urban environment, messing up roof tiles and breaking garden furniture was an amusing departure from swinging around sky-scrapers. A lot of the action scenes took place during n...

That was seven years ago. Haven't worked alongside any other female colleagues (in a non-administrative role) since.

Re: Is it hard to move out for the first time?

Well, congrats on the graduation. Was the university far from home? Did you live in a student residence? If "yes", you've at least gotten a taster of the "moving out" experience. Find a job/secure an income first, obviously. No point moving out some place and draining the bank ac...
