Re: Star Wars Episode II - A New Thread
I mean, I'd probably be hard pressed to find anyone that has a particularly strong connection with any Star Wars films post 1983, so yeah. I wouldn't call ANY of the Sequel Trilogy good, per sé. I'd actually describe them as being the "Anti-Prequel Trilogy." The Prequels had a very clear ...

Re: Star Wars Episode II - A New Thread
if you really need J.J. specific reasons as to why he’s a bad, terrible, no good writer, remember that TROS is the second space-opera sequel he’s ever directed (the first being Star Trek Into Darkness), and in both space-opera sequels he wrote in a way to cure death, minimizing the stakes for any f...

Re: Star Wars Episode II - A New Thread
IE. Johnson killing off Snoke is pure. I think his Wine Tasting film gave away what he'd do with the plot beforehand: https://youtu.be/5S4Ss5bK-ws In all seriousness, my views on both films generally fall around the vicinity of those shared by the likes of RedLetterMedia and MauLer. However, Snoke ...

Re: Star Wars Episode II - A New Thread
Your argument was that Ep 8 squashed all of the arcs that were established in Ep 7. Since questioning the legitimacy of the prophecy was never established in Ep 7, you’re argument about Ep 8 missing the ball in that regard holds little water. Your argument was that the trilogy would have been terri...

Re: Tim Miller's Terminator: Dark Fate (2019)
In my view, the better scenario would have been to make the cast 50/50 gender and turn the new leader rebel character into his wife just a different version from the T3 version due to altered timeline since by default the butterfly effect can change your look and appearance even your ethnic origin ...

Re: Star Wars Episode II - A New Thread
So, the sequel trilogy was gonna suck regardless of which plot lines were kept from TFA. I mean, really sit down and think about it. Anakin is born, prophesied as being the one to bring balance to the Force, which he does by defeating the Sith in Ep 6. Now regardless of whether or not the big bad S...

Re: Tim Miller's Terminator: Dark Fate (2019)
From the Star Wars topic: That was the reason I couldn't bring myself to sit through it, like its bad enough seeing kids die on screen (Outside of horror) but he was a character which I grew up with he was a character I watched grow in the second movie and I just didn't want to watch him get gunned ...

Re: Star Wars Episode II - A New Thread
Terminator: Dark Fate was always doomed. The FOURTH attempt at making a good Terminator 3 in a row - especially one so closely after a universally hated film like Genisys - was never going to pull in an audience big enough to support the $200 million + production budget that film was given. The mis...

Re: Shane Black & Fred Dekker to make PREDATOR Sequel
Here's the chain of events: The kid is wearing the Predator's mask and gauntlet as a Halloween costume. He goes up to a house to trick or treat, but nobody answers. As he's walking away, this guy steps out onto the balcony. I thought this was one of the bullies but now that I get a better l...

Re: Shane Black & Fred Dekker to make PREDATOR Sequel
I see some of the action movie tropes being turned on their head but I just don't see the outlandish parody aspect of it especially in the 1st film. Dutch & his crew are much more grounded (hand held mini guns aside) compared to Commando's Matrix or FBP2 Rambo, they have to use genuine team wor...

Re: Shane Black & Fred Dekker to make PREDATOR Sequel
I thought the movie was a dumpster fire, personally. It struck me as a case of, "What if Marvel made a Predator film?", though that might be since he also directed Iron Man 3. - AUTISTS ARE THE NEW X-MEN! Yeah, you're not kidding anyone with this. In some ways the film seemed like a ch...

Swimming: Infants can swim instinctively. Incorrect. What you're referring to is the Diving/Swimming Reflex, the most important thing of which to note is that infants cannot swim , but up until 6 months they exhibit reactions that increase their survivability when submerged. https://en.m.wikipedia....

Re: Star Wars Episode II - A New Thread
That said, part of the problem here is that no matter how the producers intended Holdo to be read -she is pretty badass, and has one of the most visually striking heroic moments in the entire franchise- the audience is insistent that she's a diversity hire. The same as Rey is a Mary Sue. I disagree...

Re: What directors would you like seeing tackle Evangelion in the future?
...and Anno even mentioned he'd like Eva to become the next Gundam Oh dear... Part of me is fine with nobody else picking up Evangelion and simply letting the franchise survive on its existing merits and the fantastic efforts of everyone involved in both the original and the Rebuild as well as Anno...

Re: Rebuild's Strongest Aspect(s)
I always enjoyed Shinji's character in the original series, and he was by far my favourite. However, I also liked how his character was made easier to identify with in the Rebuild version, and that was one of the best changes as a whole. He became more active and willing to change while also becomin...

Otogi 2: Immortal Warriors - Totally underrated game for what it was worth. A rare gem for the original XBox by From Software in which you played between 6 characters drawn from Japanese mythology. through third-person. Of course you went around laying the smackdown on demons, but the graphics and ...
