I understand why some of the Evas are referred to as "she" by some members of this forum...Is this just an arbitrary nomination, or something else? Not many people are aware that Rumiko Takahashi was a staff writer during the production of the anime series. You'll notice that the femi...

I think the concept of Cognitive Dissonance is being demostrated in my mind at the juxtaposition of J.J.Walker and "hot". Image

On a tangental note, I really do love to pour gasoline on open fires. I'm not speaking metaphorically, either.

I sure as hell didn't. But I guess it depends largely on the viewer. I fall into the "did I really get that?" category. NGE didn't throw me nearly as much as, say, Big O, which had me screaming "WTF?!" over and over again. I think because NGE's a bit 'weirder'...

What are the continuety errors? Woudn't those be the things folks mentioned earlier in this thread? Cigarettes disappearing, clothes, angels' damage disappearing/reappearing, flipped frames and so forth? Little meaningless details that show where the thing was animated by different teams, o...

* slaps Soluzar * Feel better? Okay, so let's just reduce this to common sense and not get hung up on little liggling details that can only be seen on your twelfth frame-by-frame viewing of Evangelion. Question For Anyone: Do most people understand the basic meaning of Evangelion after their fir...

^ I got that too, but he quoted me then said, "You". Which I felt free to interpret as either ME (in the singular) or US (the rest of the forum, if he meant plural). Either way, I felt the need to respond. Tricky things, pronouns. http://www.evageeks.org/ANF-Archive/images/...

^^ Okay, so is this poll simply designed to settle that one issue? Or is this poll designed to determine whether Anno & company were capable of making mistakes or not? To which we go back to my original point, don't we? I still don't know what new information this poll is meant to reveal...

So, to come back to the thread topic... Eva Monkey - did you learn anything new at all from this thread and poll? If so, what? I'm genuinely curious, because like Soluzar, I thought that the either/or nature of your poll choices plus the oppositional way those viewpoints were worded in your firs...

I don't know of a single unflawed production - live action, animated or otherwise. Nobody's perfect. Some people just make fewer mistakes than others.

^ My viewpoint would be more correctly summed up "It's a semi-allegorical story designed to represent facets of one man's subjective experience, all within the context of a compelling narrative." I don't think Evangelion has much relevance outside that scope. Originally posted ...

From my experience on the Internet, it seems to me that very few people ... actually get what a powerful, unifying theme this is, and even fewer care about what a serious issue it is... So as Dr. Nick said, maybe the majority simply care more about Misato's fan service or EVAs crushing things. ...

I think that anyone who doesn't contribute an essay (accepted or not) to the project voids all right to criticize or ridicule it when it's finally released.

Copyright infringment? Desslock NO LIKE. Seriously, don't bring it up. http://www.evageeks.org/ANF-Archive/images/uhh.gif To be fair, that has nothing to do with why I contacted ADV. His lies had merely gotten to the point of ridiculousness, so I called his bluff. If I remember correctly, the p...

It appears that he's moved his copyright infringment on to other projects, like a Live Action Pokemon: http://www.3dm3.com/forum/showthread.php?p=42921 You know, I couldn't have made that up if I'd tried. http://www.evageeks.org/ANF-Archive/images/lol.gif Originally posted on: 08-May-200...
