Off the top of my head, Pale Cocoon and Hoshi no Koe as stand-alone and less than movie length.

Re: Is it weird I can't pick a side?

My favorite moment was when Rei smiled, but 20 eps later I became indifferent towards her. That's roughly what Anno did as well; his concept of her story was done at the end of episode 6, and she was just there in the background, if at all, until it was time for her to become an alien space goddess...

For the shy Yuushabros out there -- Washio Sumi part 3 PV, subbed already

Since this series is being part-funded funded by public money (tourism advertising from the Kanonji local government), it doesn't really have to turn a profit.

It's what you'd expect when the training input would have all the bright colours, and the program was just mixing them together, like it was mixing the names.

Re: Computer Stupidities

Fortunately, next to nobody was using Vista, as that too is out of extended support (as of 4 weeks ago, now) just like XP. At least it's been a few years since I've seen any NT4 or Win95 in use in an institutional setting. Problem is, it's not only hospitals -- banks are just as bad, running old OS ...

LoGH to episode 32; and it's getting to be more like Lex Luthor's Galactic Scheming . This is into Book 3 now (Book 2 running to about episode 28). I can find no argument against watching Kemono Friends . However, I can find no argument in favour of it either A 2ch comment on the subject 429 名前:名無し...

Re: Illegal torrent trackers tumbling down (tumbling down)

Well, it's been months since I watched anime, and I was thinking about getting back into it, guess now I'll have to kick the habit for good. Things are far less bleak than you're making out -- /g/'s nyaa replacement seems to be at least somewhat functional (even if the demand from Japanese IP addre...

they were asserting that the fan-subbing itself is in breach of copyright law.
Well, it does involve creating an unauthorised derivative work, after all. Unless it's a meme-subs group, who could probably claim an exception for parody.

It was a mobage first, with the anime following on after; the franchise is a couple of years old now.

Re: Evangelion disappointing as Sci-fic?

Coming to NGE with 40 years reading SF by preference under my belt, I was really rather pleasantly surprised by the series as a work in the genre -- though knowing that the core of GAINAX got their start in the fan scene, working well within the genre was something one would hope they would achieve....

Well, in the end, Youjo Senki was a fun ride. Having the MC be this duck-faced girl with exaggerated expressions in amongst the generally normal looking older men worked by being so ridiculous. The "now read the LN" end, was, of course, to be expected, especially with the tale of revenge b...

For me, because it had such an effect when I first saw it, acting both on emotional and intellectual levels like nothing else has quite done before or since. Now, long after the original shock has long worn off, it's become a part of the mental furniture, despite the best efforts of the Rebuilds to ...
