Re: Those Aren't Our Spears! A Theory On Impact Classifications, The Origins Of The Spears, Time Loops, And The Coffins

They could have replaced each of the Angel's souls by inserting an artificial Rei or Kaworu soul into their cores to make them easier to control. This would tie into the theory of the Rei clones possibly being part of the Seele Program that took over control of Mark.09 and Unit-13. Releasing the 12t...

Re: Those Aren't Our Spears! A Theory On Impact Classifications, The Origins Of The Spears, Time Loops, And The Coffins

so how such beings would fit inside Lilin-sized coffins raises some super weird questions about what these supposed baby Angels actually look like... A whole Angel wouldn't actually be crammed into each coffin, but rather just their embryos. Seele could have collected the embryos early on before th...

Re: Adams, Children, and the Nature of the Cycle

This bit of dialogue has, understandably, tripped up speculation about what exactly happened to Asuka. She still possesses corruption from the 9th Angel, but there’s no corruption from the Angel? HUH??? Mark.09 being created from the core that once held Asuka’s soul — as strange as the concept migh...

Re: Mari's vow to Shinji

Bit off topic but i didn't think Mari is responsible for what Shinji did. I think it shows two ways Shinji reacts to things happening in his life. N3I is related back to the 9th angel incident, In that one Shinji refused to do anything and so he lost any and all agency in the outcome. In N3I he did...

Re: Mari's vow to Shinji

I think it just means that Mari is able to look at Shinji in an objective fashion. The way i see it Misato sees him as a reminder of the mistakes of the past, Asuka is a bundle of conflicting emotions regarding Shinji, the rest of Willie at large distrust him. Mari on the other hand is able to see ...

Re: First look at Unit 08 and Mari from the theatrical teaser for 3.0+1.0

They could have just used some of the spare Unit-02 parts they find in Paris to fix Unit-08, but didn't have time to repaint it, thus giving it a mismatched color scheme.

Re: Rebuilds being a continuation of EoE?

I always assumed that the reason it was called 3.0 + 1.0 instead of 4.0 was because of how the number four is considered to be very unlucky in Japan and a lot of other East Asian cultures, due to how similar it sounds to the word for death. Tetraphobia is so extreme in Japan that people will even go...

Re: Does Shinji view Asuka as someone who can help him?

I don't think so. Shinji was in a comma so his mental age is still 14 years old, but Asuka is much mentally older (27/28 years old) so they are very different, while biology also plays an important role in the development of an adult person. Asuka is also mad at Shinji, but this time she is not cov...

Re: Dreams about Evangelion...

Damn, that's a good dream. Why is Shinji Lilith and not Adam? My guess is because of their Evas. Shinji piloted Unit-01, which was a clone of Lilith, and Asuka piloted Unit-02, which was a clone of Adam. Also, it's kind of like a subversion of expectations. Normally people would be quick to assume ...

Re: Mari's vow to Shinji

It's not just that. Mari standing there and saying that she is going find Shinji also kind of mirrors the scene at the beginning of 3.0 where Kaworu is watching Unit-01 falling back to Earth and says that has been waiting for Shinji. Could this parallel be intentional? The fact that she would mentio...

Re: The idea of a timeloop

If you mean that pieces of the puzzle are still missing, okay. For example why Kaworu says "This time, I'll be sure to bring you happiness"? Did he fail last time? Has he already met Shinji in the past? When? But these mysteries are not necessarily explained by timeloop between Rebuild-NG...

Key word, I said some people, as in not all of them. Normally I try to avoid making generalized statements about a whole.

Re: The idea of a timeloop

A meta comment here: Where in the world, where in popular culture, did this time-loop meme arise from? There seems to have been something that I missed in recent decades that spawned things like the Peggy Sue style of fic, and now this. What it is that even makes it a sane thing to broach in a univ...

Re: Adams, Children, and the Nature of the Cycle

Some very interesting theories here. I'm starting to like them more and more. …we have our answer. “Adams’ Vessel” means “Vessel for an Adams’ Soul”, or just “Adams’ Core”. Mark.09 is the core of an Adams. Or was , once upon a time. Lilith knows what Seele did to it. So which Adam would they have go...

Re: The Eva 3.0+1.0 Title

I don't get it, why do people want these movies to be part of a time loop so badly? Why can't the Rebuilds just be allowed to stand as their own thing without being linked to the original series in some convoluted way? It's not that strange for a hugely popular series to have multiple timelines and ...

Re: Adams, Children, and the Nature of the Cycle

Why are you trying to squeeze Mk.9 and Wunder into the Adams ranks, out of curiosity? When it comes to theories about fiction, I usually follow the principle of Occam's Razor, which states that the simplest explanation that involves the least amount of assumptions is usually the one that's correct....

Re: Adams, Children, and the Nature of the Cycle

Alright, so crossing out the Unit-13 being a fusion theory, my two current theories regarding the identities of four Adams is that they're either Mark.06, Mark.09 + Wunder, Unit-13, and the Key of Nebuchadnezzar OR Unit-01, Mark.06, Mark.09 + Wunder, and Unit-13, with the Key of Nebuchadnezzar being...

Re: Adams, Children, and the Nature of the Cycle

Regarding Eva-13, I'm still not entirely sure what to make of its 4-eyed, 4-armed state. The four eyes aren't reflected in the image of the Adams (whereas Eva-01's three eyes are), suggesting they aren't an original trait, and leaving it open that the extra arms could have been similarly added (tho...

Re: "EVANGELION:3.0+1.0 AVANT 1 (from beginning to 10:40) Version 0706" discussion and prediction thread

If it was only "originally" Eva-07, and was cutting room floor material for a time before finally becoming part of Mark.04, that means that Eva-07 is still unaccounted for. I once had a dream where I saw what Unit-07 looked like, and I was piloting it as Shinji. It was red like Unit-02, b...
