Re: Favourite piece from the Eva OSTs?

This thread is a good way of discovering new favourites I've gotta say hahah, this series has a seriously amazing track record when it comes to music.

Re: A decade has gone by since the first Rebuild film (Jo)....

It's kind of difficult to think about how large a space of time has passed between the first and final film coming in 2020, but what's even crazier is remembering that this started way back in the 90s dude

It's really visceral looking, I really enjoy that style too. Even to see a rough animatic of sorts developed of those alternate cuts/scenes would have been amazing.

Re: Personal Status After Rebuild

It's a difficult series to walk away from, there's so much to interpret and speculate on, even excluding the existence of Rebuild. This final movie will definitely make it more of a struggle to move away from as a whole, because I don't doubt this installment will leave even more questions for the v...

Re: Favourite piece from the Eva OSTs?

For a show that can be so chaotic at times, the quieter tracks help to alleviate the stress and bring attention to the more thoughtful moments. I like barefoot in the park, also.

Re: Awful Games?

Those kinds of games can be quite fun to visit, too. Sometimes I prefer messing around with clunkier games and stuff just to get a better understanding of how not to make a game, if the story is good or it has some redeeming qualities that can kinda turn my opinions on it for the better.

Re: Awful Games?

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I've had an Earth Defense Force game sitting on my shelf for ages without even realizing, I'm gonna finally give it a go dude

I love House of the Dead for it's god-awful voice acting, coupled with the games being really enjoyable it just adds to them

Re: What was Seele's original goal for Fourth Impact? Eva Q

Their intentions/plans are very much different from the EoE version of SEELE, that much is certain. They seem to want something along the lines of what was discussed previously in the thread, to manufacture a godlike being through humanity which ultimately serves the same purpose as the impact seen ...

Re: Debate the quality of Rebuild here. [2]

I don't think it's so much to do with quality, as opposed to people's personal preference and feelings towards ambiguous storytelling. It is really just a massive art piece given movement, at least from my perspective. Some people may like it, and others might despise it - that's just the way it is....

What a masterpiece that game seems to be, Imma check it out if I can find it

Also for others who read this, I'd also love to take some suggestions of games with terrible voice acting, those are just as marvellous as awful gameplay/glitches

Re: Weird things happening to me after finishing NGE/EoE

Once you're heavily invested in/freshly finished with a series, it's really hard not to associate things around you with it. The characters and questions posed for the fans to solve and debate flood my head at random sometimes, even without prompting or anything to trigger that train of thought. It'...

Re: Is there a thing as diving too deep?

I hold it as fact that there is such a thing as that. Everyone in the world has parts of their mind that would be incredibly discomforting for themselves to peer into, let alone a person completely seperate from them. I don't think it's necessarily dehumanizing so much as it is incredibly disturbing...

Re: How many people in this forum would support an Instrumentality for mankind?

One conscience contained with the minds of everyone on Earth? I imagine that'd be genuinely awful, as fantastic of an idea as that may sound on paper. Almost everyone likes to find solutions to their problems and flaws, but without them I imagine it'd be a very dull existence with no true meaning an...

Re: What would Evangelion be without Shinji?

As little credit as some would like to give to Shinji, Eva wouldn't be Eva without him. It'd resemble something much more hollow without Shinji at it's core as he embodies a lot of the key themes of the show and makes everything so much easier to swallow, having him as the vantage point who experien...

Model Kits

I've been swaying on whether or not I should invest some money into Eva Model kits for a while now (as I liked messing around with Gunpla's a while back), and was wondering if anyone could possibly help me in finding a good quality starting point. Unit 02 has always been my favourite, if anyone know...

Re: What directors would you like seeing tackle Evangelion in the future?

I'd be incredibly anxious about the way that other directors would handle Eva, although I did enjoy the altered manga version so there's every chance that a new spin could be refreshing. I'm stuck in a weird state of hoping for a Western Eva adaptation and hating the entire idea of that at the same ...

Re: Anyone else feel dislike towards EoE nowadays?

I personally love it and it's relation to the original series, what with how they both coexist - not in two different forms of canon. It's one of those films that I see as masterful in almost every regard, and inspired me massively as an aspiring artist, sorry for sounding pretentious. Although ever...
