Re: What anime are you watching right now? Summer 2016 to now

There's a reason why I said that the series was blood-chilling adventure. Of the recent cute girl outdoor activity PSA series, this is the one that hasn't made me wish I could go do that thing -- not even if it meant going with a bunch of cute Japanese girls who would help keep me warm at night. Th...

I will never be able to find animal girls cute again after this show. Why must you insist on twisting everything I love into something Ugly Japan?

Re: What anime are you watching right now? Summer 2016 to now

Just finished Angel Beats, which was kind of a mistake, because the last episode can be a real tearjerker. I didn't really expect such a sad ending (that after credits scene doesn't count, that's just teasing) in a show that just had so many goofy moments and very nice music. Even though it didn't m...

Well, it's two years old. I guess something would have changed in that time in that branch.

Well, if you mean by 'decent' that it fits in one column, then yes. They also mostly have stuff for america, so that's not much help for the rest of the world.

Re: Best service to watch anime around the world

Well, I found in the meantime a rather good list of legal services for anime and even some manga. Not sure if it's ok to post the link, but I do it anyway:

Re: Who else is de-sensitized?

Fantasy is a reflection of reality. It being filled with meaning is inevitable, even moreso with something like Eva. I'd rather call it an abstraction, but that is simply my point of view. Like everything else here is just what everyone else thinks. Which is something that makes me question if Evan...

Re: Best service to watch anime around the world

Links to illegal sources are forbidden by the site's rules; so I presume that the site concerned is not considered legal. Occasionally such sites have been mentioned , but it is important that this site maintains a credible stance of not encouraging or aiding their use. Well, even streaming in gene...

Why should it be against the rules? I just want to know experiences and maybe what is where to get, in a pretty opaque industry.

Re: Who else is de-sensitized?

Well, I stick with my opinion that the kids here are putting to much thought into it. There are to many aspects to look at a tv show or movie to get a singular meaning out of it. The only thing from all the changes between each and every installment, TV show or movie alike, I could account to Anno i...

Re: Best service to watch anime around the world

I have a Funimation subscription in the UK, and it blocks me watching it anywhere else. They send me emails saying what a good way it is to occupy myself at holiday times, and then won't let me! It's not as though a geographical restriction is necessary when I have to log in! Well, funimation is no...

Best service to watch anime around the world

So I was starting to watch some anime a couple weeks ago and wondered where I could best watch them, i.e. with a subscription to one of the big worldwide distributors in the like of NetFlix or Crunchyroll. The problem with either of the options is my localization namely the dreaded legal labyrinth o...

Re: Who else is de-sensitized?

Sounds like a clear case of growing up syndrome a.k.a. puberty here. Well, the majority of people isn't really happy or has a lot of emotions to begin with, and imo everyone must find their own way to be in peace with themselves. Hell, even I mostly are reactionless towards most media, because I don...

Re: Wait so how did Asuka die in EoE?

[quote="mys_721tx#873151" On the other hand, the Rebuild of Evangelion movies have shown that in the RoE continuity the pilots do take physical damage when their Evas are attacked.[/quote] This may be, but it's still inconsistent throughout the movies. At least they don't emphasize the inj...

Re: What happen to Soryu ?

I think Soryu has been divided into three aspects, the pilot, the girl, and the doll. I'm sure she'll be back in Final. So, in the way that she metaphysically divided into three persons or clones? Or in a rather stylistic way, that Anno just shows three stages of her "former" self from th...

I guess your're right there. Probably left THAT out because of not enough screentime in the movies.

Re: Shikinami or Soryu relationship with Shinji ?

Not really, Anno didn't just randomly choose Rei as the source of the voice and image. He chose her as it's something Rei would say. Whether it's real or not isn't really relevant, The characterization of Rei is still being used to explore Shinji. Characters do not require physical presences to exp...

Re: Are the Failures of Infinity alive?

Maybe they had enough spare parts to make up a half of the frankeneva. Maybe the preview (as previously) has precious little to do with what we'll actually get. I dunno. It's hard to believe that he would let out a huge battle that resembles the one Asuka had in EoE, even though the preview scenes ...
