Well, that's the thing. I always hoped that religion would be kept separate from school, even if students create a religious club or something. Since prayer in schools has been shot down (at least for now), we have to wonder were the boundary is between the church and state. I consider t...

I got into Eva through AMVs. My friend sent me a few AMVs of my favorite songs and that's how I started liking anime. I think 2 or 3 of the AMVs he sent me were mostly Eva, so I got curious after that.

You can eliminate spielberg from the list, he and Eastwood are going to be making a movie about Iwo Jima for the next 2 years, and as for Lucas he is in the middle of the latest star wars debacle (loved the original 3, last two have been just OK). I thought Spielberg would've been a goo...

Well, remember, if the public embraces this movie (and by the public, I mean the mainstream American public), then a second and third movie might be in the works. Sadly, I want this movie to move away from the mainstream values that the anime and manga were built on, but ADV will try to buil...

Wow that's taking it to a pretty abstract level. Would Dr. Seuss like Eva? I think so.

Eva Art in school probably isn't as serious as a problem as just explaining most of the elements to people. I mean, art is art. They can critique it, but they probably can't dispute its existence.

Not quite on topic but this is quite disturbing... ..It's an Asuka bedsheat I've got both that one and Rei's bedsheet. I hang them on the insides of my closet. :) About the part that disturbed me somewhat: when Unit-01 arm got shot off my Zeruel. In all retrospect, feeling like your...

Re: Has Anyone Ever Used Evangelion In School?

I admire you Shinseki for putting yourself on the line and introducing eva to an english class. I think its an excellent idea for a psychology class as well. I had to do a report in my college psych class, but I thought eva would have been to heavy for the class to understand. (I used Memento i...

I enjoy Eva because of it's sophistication and style. Some people say that if Eva returned to American television at this time, the show would become infected with noobs. However, this show isn't easily understood and you have to like it to a deeper level rather than on the surface.

Episode 14 reminds me of when most critics came to the assumption that Gainax was running out of money for the show. The recap, the poem, and Unit-00 going beserk again with Shinji was a plausible form for an episode in my opinion. Of course, Gainax could've used less of the same cells in the &#...

Well, that's probably the most common way to use Eva. I agree that Eva changed most of my thoughts and values. I used actual DVD clips and even though the religious stuff had no point to the subject, I let the clip run over the touchy parts just to rattle a few cages.

Has Anyone Ever Used Evangelion In School?

Hey I'm pretty new here, but I figured I would introduce a hopefully new topic: Has Anyone Ever Used Evangelion In School? I did for 2 of my english projects. One theme was about relationships and the other was about existentialism, so I pulled Eva into it, hoping that it would be fun for me ...

I had a dream of Asuka cooking with the prog knife. That's about as far as it went. Now you're all probably thinking, 'What? Asuka cooking?'

I don't think Tiffany Grant mixed too well with Asuka. Her tone and style just didn't work for me.

Hello

Hey I just joined this forum with the help of some regulars (i.e. Asuka Langley). Seeing as one of our favorite lurking spots is down, this place is a nice burrow for some Eva talk. I can't wait to see the discussions!
