Re: Word of God or Death of the Author?

Generally speaking I'm a death of the author guy, I try to put the opera in the right context and then answer the questions I believe it raises, I think about it until I have a somewhat clear picture and only then I search for other interpretations or the opinion of the author to have a more wide vi...

Re: Evangelion Pic Thread 10: The Society for the Appreciation Of The Premium Girl (and her friends)

Fair point I always thought the Glyph in Asuka's eye was meant to symbolize an awakening as its a small cross so I always thought her soul was emanating through her left eye hence why it glows but that's just my theory. ^_^ In my mind it was put there to prevent the angelic matter from spreading li...

It's a cute image until you realize that Mari removed the Angel-Sealing Hex Glyphs from the angelic eye.

Re: Rebuild Instrumentality Theory

Maybe it's just a bad dream for Shinji: he unconsciously projected all of his fears into that alternative reality. However I believe that the movies are set in the real world: Ha extensively focused on how beautiful is the world and on Shinji discovering the pleasure of nurturing something, that's w...

Welding mask and sunglasses are usually to weak anyway, you need at least a shade 12, ideally 14.

I don't think there's anything similar between that scene and any scene from TTGL, maybe just the visuals.

The interview is from October 2012, before 3.0 even came out, and I don't see any sort of lecturing in 1.0 or 2.0. I think he's referring to NGE and EoE.

Re: Star Wars

I don't want literally KOTOR the movie, but a movie completely unrelated to any of the other movies or known characters. The world of Star Wars is almost infinite in theory, let's explore it. Obviously I know that it will never happen, the amount of work needed in pre production to create a totally ...

Re: If Shinji were to die in the final film.

If they were planning something they would have at least planned it well like in "The Truman Show" you cited earlier, the outcome is (one of many) proof that they didn't really plan anything and just did what they thought was the right thing to do. Asuka bursting in the room acting like sh...

Re: If Shinji were to die in the final film.

If Shinji is a "horrible shit" why does Wille goes in all sorts of troubles to rescue him instead of simply flicking a switch? If they really wanted to eliminate him, or even if they simply didn't care either way about him, he would probably be dead now. There's some clear fallacy here. By...

Re: If Shinji were to die in the final film.

Yeah. Pretty much that's it. If you aren't productive member of society, you can disappear. That seems to be very prevalent mindset in Japan (but not only) even if it's rarely voiced aloud. Also it's completly valid in utilitarian world that Q is set in. Even more so, when you cause problems by jus...

Re: Star Wars

The Star Wars universe is supposed to have ridiculous George R R Martin esque levels of history, like there were Jedis a million years ago or some shit like that. Do something way before or way after the main sequence movies. Maybe make one that has no Jedi or force shit in it at all. KOTOR the mov...

Re: Rebuild Instrumentality Theory

I've mentioned at least once on this forum before that I have a general theory that every single "canon" iteration of Evangelion (NGE/Manga/Rebuild) is a world brought on by Instrumentality and that's been Anno's lynchpin to the plot of 3.0+1.0 and his ultimate finale to the Evangelion fr...

Re: Evangelion Pic Thread 10: The Society for the Appreciation Of The Premium Girl (and her friends)

Maybe the one he woke up in is the only one that survived Asuka.

Or maybe they didn't want Asuka and her active angelic eye in the same room as BM-03 so she saw him for the first time in the med bay (that's now my head canon).

Re: If Shinji were to die in the final film.

"Eva is a story of repetition. It is a story where our protagonist faces the same situation many times over and determinedly picks himself back up again. It is a story of the will to move forward, even if only a little. It is a story of the resolve to want to be together, even though it is fri...
