Re: What manga are you reading right now?

The Rising of the Shield Hero Okay I know this one has a huge social media controversy sticker attached but I've had this before with Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid anime and that was excellent as was The Ancient Magus Bride so I thought I'm gonna read this regardless, and you know what? This is a bl...

Re: Ghostbusters (2020)

This is implying that people already aren't just blocking out 2016 right now. Truth be told there are people out there that couldn't stand that movie for reasons other than what fans of it will tell you. If I'm brutally honest I didn't warm to the 2016 version and I really wanted to so badly but I ...

Re: Ghostbusters (2020)

Random thought: It’s gonna be so weird when the Ghostbusters reboot that is retconning the all female Ghostbusters movie out of existence pushes the message on the fan base that toxically attacked the previous cast & crew that “ Anyone can be a Ghostbuster ”. Yeah but I have a feeling this is g...

Re: Ghostbusters (2020)

Any Bill Murray movie can be instantly and immeasurably improved by replacing him with Jeff Goldblum. The older I've gotten, the more Bill Murray's on-screen antics feel more like an asshole trying to act like he isn't. Ghostbusters I & II were the more obvious examples of this, but it's even t...

Re: What would you change about Evangelion?

What you are describing is close to a prior version of the script. https://wiki.evageeks.org/Resources:End_of_Evangelion_Screenplays I'd say the movie version has more impact. Though it is very uncomfortable... I had heard about the changes but I had never seen them thank you for the link that was ...

Re: What would you change about Evangelion?

The hosbital scene in EOE I wouldn't take it away but I would just show him re covering Asuka but then going to the bathroom offside to do the same thing and still feel disgusted at himself because I think it has the same effect and takes away none of the impact.

Re: Star Trek

Shit, mainstreaming Star Wars for a mass audience isn't even working. Design by committee makes it very hard to make something worthwhile in the end. The other problem, which you will note as common to both Star-something franchises, is J. J. Abrams. I agree with this plus its just one franchise af...

Re: EOE as a comedy

Maybe I'm just a sick son of a gun, but I've always seen End of Evangelion as one of the funniest films of all time: right up there with stuff like Young Frankenstein , Spaceballs , and Airplane! . + The failure of Asuka in defeating the EVA-series: I keep imagining Mario power-up sound-effects for...

Re: Shane Black & Fred Dekker to make PREDATOR Sequel

Yeah... forgot to mention that as one of the myriad things I hated about the film. The Extra Evil Predator is actually targeting Captain Autism in the film, because apparently his autism is the genetic trait they desired to integrate into themselves I hear people complain about AVP but the reality ...

Figured I'd wait until our heroine makes her in-chapter appearance before bumping again. ;) http://www.jimmys-desktop.de/aki.php?browse.6.151 Also in case you haven't seen my notes on the last pages there: I figured, I'd kinda like to add some more illustrations to the T2t version on my site, so if...

Re: Shane Black & Fred Dekker to make PREDATOR Sequel

Here's the chain of events: The kid is wearing the Predator's mask and gauntlet as a Halloween costume. He goes up to a house to trick or treat, but nobody answers. As he's walking away, this guy steps out onto the balcony. I thought this was one of the bullies but now that I get a better l...

I made it to the extended argument about whether or not that guy said something about Olivia Munn's pussy and checked out. Christ almighty, what a total dumpster fire this movie is. Also what the hell was with the kid just blowing up the bully and his house and getting away with it? The token e...

Re: What anime are you watching right now? Summer 2016 to now

I'm not sure how ANY rape scene can be considered "tame" in the first place. I agree but I also think its all about you frame it my view is that it must be from the victims perspective, not the villains and it should not be sexualized as this can make the viewer think its just bad sex or ...

Re: What anime are you watching right now? Summer 2016 to now

Season Over. It's hard to believe I've been keeping up with seasonal anime for nearly six years now. I must have too much free time. Goblin Slayer : Can you believe that this show generated controversy with one of the tamest rape scenes I've ever seen? It makes me wonder where the hell the people t...

Re: Last Movie You Watched

I saw Warner Brothers' Mowgli on Netflix. It was a pretty solid flick. I haven't seen Disney's live-action Jungle Book, mostly because I wanted to see Andy Serkis direct a version with a clean palette. The CGI wasn't as photorealistic as I've seen other attempts at CGI animals, but I actually liked...

Re: Godzilla & Kaiju General!

^ Exactly. When they first announced a Godzilla anime, I was wondering how they would realize the movement of such a creature in animation. After watching the Godzilla anime, I still wonder how they would realize his movement because Godzilla hardly moves in these movies. See, usually Godzilla, lik...
