Re: [NEWS] Neon Genesis Evangelion coming to Netflix Spring 2019

Can't argue with Gen Fukunaga's viewpoint on Netflix getting Eva. It's an easy target to mock his opinion because of where he's coming from as the president of a company that would have had the rights to Eva if they weren't so astronomically high. Eva is just another piece of content in Netflix's ne...

Re: Evangelion 3.0+1.0: 2020

If there was a time to drastically change up the style & aesthetic of Evangelion it would have been back in 2007 with You Are (Not) Alone . That was the time & opportunity for Anno & Co to switch things up and go all CG or whatever since it was essentially a brand new start. They didn't....

Re: SSSS Gridman - Studio Trigger (2018)

Short of starting a Crunchyroll account - it's not the money, I have that, it's just I have too many streaming accounts and know I'd only use it once or twice a year at most - or resorting to piracy - don't do that anymore - is there any other venue to see SSSS.Gridman? I haven't looked yet but can ...

Re: Evangelion 3.0+1.0: 2020

So anyone think there’s gonna be a New Year’s surprise regarding Final? Or will they do nothing because the movie isn’t due until 2020?

Re: Last Movie You Watched

Schindler’s List is playing at AMC theaters across the country to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the films original release. I’ve seen the film before but had the chance to see it on the biggest screen possible with the best audio and picture quality imagineable. It’s a masterpiece that is une...

Re: I feel like Shinji will withdraw from everyone in 1.0+3.0

Your suffer, suffer, suffer, everyone is here on Earth to make other people suffer and no one can think or do anything to help another person unless it is to make them suffer schtick is really really old. Human interaction exists in millions of different forms and styles both good and bad. If all yo...

Re: Transformers: We Deserve Better Than Michael Bay

Bumblebee is not a Michael Bay movie. It’s actually good. Surprisingly so. The action is coherent and really thrilling. It’s got a ton of heart and a three-act character story that doesn’t rely on long exposition heavy Autobot mythology and not a gratuitous ass shot or uncomfortable racist caricatur...

Re: Superhero/Comic Based Films & Tv - Vol.2

The last Marvel movie to have taken any general risks was Iron Man Three. It also is one of the few Marvel movies to have a bit of a real personality. It's of course hated by a majority of the fanbase because it doesn't pander to the fans. Infinity War is 150 minutes of pure pandering. They took 10 ...

Seems odd to @ both the NGE and Rebuild Rei Ayanami voice actresses but internets gotta internet.

Re: [NEWS] Neon Genesis Evangelion coming to Netflix Spring 2019

The only hint/rumor here in Italy is that NGE (I presume EoE) may get a theatrical run in May. The only official info is that Netflix will stream the series in Spring, and this true for every nation currently. If that was to happen it would have to be part of some deal completely removed from Netfl...

Re: [NEWS] Neon Genesis Evangelion coming to Netflix Spring 2019

I don’t want to nag but has any company in Latin America confirmed they’re doing a new dub? I don’t see where this confirmation is coming from. I searched Google, Twitter and a few other places for a confirmed announcement that Latin America, Italy & Spain are getting a new dub & there was n...

Re: [NEWS] Neon Genesis Evangelion coming to Netflix Spring 2019

It's just the internet being the internet. A very vocal minority comprised of maybe - MAYBE - 2% of the viewers who will ultimately see NGE on Netflix are running around making assumptions and guesses that other people are passing off as fact. Netflix probably has everything set and in motion for wh...

Re: Steven Universe general

I'd have to check but I think two years ago the show disappeared for over half a year without a peep.
Feels like the story is wrapping up and they could finish things relatively quick but the way this (great) show airs it probably has another three years to go.

Re: Superhero/Comic Based Films & Tv - Vol.2

You can be a fan of this universe and not sugarcoat things. The ending of Infinity War would actually be worth talking about if it wasn't already announced that half these "dead" characters have future movies and TV shows in production. It's not a brave move when they go out of their way t...

Re: Superhero/Comic Based Films & Tv - Vol.2

You won't get flack for saying it. I'm with you entirely in that Disney is in the perfect position to make all types of films for all ages & demographics & they should. But as pointed out, Disney ain't in this business to make art anymore. The budget of one of their Cartoon Remakes, Superher...

Re: [NEWS] Neon Genesis Evangelion coming to Netflix Spring 2019

At some point someone is going to do an in-depth expose with behind-the-scenes data of what Netflix’s actual viewership numbers are because by design they’ve created a system where they can say whatever they want. Netflix’s Ted Sarantos stated over 20 million individual users in the US streamed the ...

Re: Superhero/Comic Based Films & Tv - Vol.2

The “tarnishing” comment is less about quality than it is public image. Disney has branded itself 100% on being all about family friendly entertainment because that’s where the most money is at. They’ll allow their PG-13 films to dip into darker material but mostly in a surface level way. Disney has...

Re: Superhero/Comic Based Films & Tv - Vol.2

CoughNetflixCancelledDaredevilCough. I heard talk of this three weeks ago but it’s official now. To put it bluntly, Netflix is cleaning house of all things Marvel because the shows are expensive and in the long run they’re only really acting as marketing for the Disney/Marvel brand. They can throw o...

Re: [NEWS] Neon Genesis Evangelion coming to Netflix Spring 2019

New subs are a given. New dubs? I repeat, I think y'all setting yourselves up for a disappointment. As for a Rebuild Boxset? As long as nothing major happens and another distributor doesn't get Final or Funimation crumbles into dust under the current market I think a boxset is a given. It won't be a...

Lakeith Stanfield as Spike or I riot. Either way, I'm curious if Shinichiro Watanabe's consulting producer credit is the very rare " He actually was involved in most aspects of production in a consulting fashion " role OR the far common John Carpenter style of "He's given a massive pa...
