“Striking a Powerpuff Girls pose,” does this person know about superheroes? Powerpuff Girls poses are literally half of their job. (Gangreen Gang poses if they’re a vigilante.)

What's the problem, exactly? He saw it, he's allowed to say what he thought and that it wasn't for him. He kept it to a brief comment and not a wall of text rant, too!
Seriously. Don't be one of those guys.

Re: Superhero/Comic Based Films & Tv - Vol.2
Armand White has to be one of the worst critics around. I know he's going to say something stupid and he still manages to surprise me.
As for the other review
SPOILER: Show
Isn't it funny how nobody cries contrivance when Cap, Thor and Tony just so happen to be the only 3 Avengers close enough to the surface to fight Thanos in the climax? And that Ant Man *just so happens* to dig the others out right in time for the big assembly? I wonder what the difference is...?
And then of course there's the inevitable "yeah but Wonder Woman!" No man's land worked so well because it's the first on-screen appearance of Diana as Wonder Woman (in this movie) and manages to perfectly encapsulate Wonder Woman's character while also being a neat action sequence. You're going to have trouble getting that to work for other characters because they are not Diana, who is a hopeful and inspirational figure. Well, except Cap and Superman, I suppose.
I saw people trying to make that same comparison with Captain Marvel, but they always seem to ignore that Carol and Diana have wildly differing personalities and different messaging to go along with that.
Also that Lady Avengers scene was absolutely a nod to A-Force and they better make that a movie now.

Someday I hope that we'll be reunited if that is what's destined to be. Perhaps we'll discover that elusive bible. And then we will finally be free!

I’ve read a bunch of Armand White’s reviews and I honestly can’t tell if they’re supposed to be satirical. They look like they should.

Re: Superhero/Comic Based Films & Tv - Vol.2
Regarding the plot of the movie, I do wish they'd had one more scene showing how
SPOILER: Show
2014 Thanos' ship got to the present when they didn't have any more Pym particles. I was left with the impression that Thanos had his people reverse engineer them and the temporal GPS since we saw Nebula give him the phial, but having a scene clarifying that would have been nice.

Re: Superhero/Comic Based Films & Tv - Vol.2
My assumption was that
SPOILER: Show
Thanos just reverse engineered the Pym-Stark quantum tunneling tech and Pym Particles and already had the “return” coordinates from Nebula’s wrist device. Nebula just hadn’t to open the door from her side.

I keep reading that he’s actually a talented actor. I’ve never seen a movie he’s in, though.
Also I once confused him for James Franco, which is deeply embarrassing.

I’m actually deeply relieved that it’s only Robert Patterson, because I initially read that as “Pat Robertson” plays The Batman, and that would have been genuinely unnerving. I don’t need Batman putzing around the manor muttering “Joker is gonna form a gay and lesbian occult to cause a hurricane 9/11 Katrina right over Gotham city.”
Re: Superhero/Comic Based Films & Tv - Vol.2
On the contrary, I feel that is exactly what we need.

Damn, I should stop pitching better movies every time a possible train wreck is announced.
To be fair, I think that the casting of Robert Patterson might actually work. Time will tell, I guess.

That's my problem I only remember him in harry potter and as the sparking staking abusive vampire boyfriend, twilight aside though I have not seen him in anything else since that, not saying he couldn't be good but he is the last choice I would have thought of pitching for a DC role like this.

I keep forgetting he was in Harry Potter until someone reminds me he was in Harry Potter.

I'm still mainly pissed about Affleck but Pattinson will apparently be the lead in the next Christopher Nolan film, if Nolan trust him, I guess I can give him a chance.

^ Uh, it’s a Matt Reeves movie, not a Chris Nolan movie. Matt Reeves is known for being a part of JJ Abrams’s projects in some way. The Batman (and the new Joker movie) is gonna be one of the first theatrical DC films in a while to not have Nolan anywhere in production at all.

Sorry I wasn't clear, Nolan's next film post Dunkirk which hasn't been titled yet has cast Pattinson as one of the leads with John David Washington & Elizabeth Debecki.
My point was if Nolan trust his acting enough to cast him as the lead in one of his major films, I can give him a chance as Batman. I think Reeve's The Batman will be coming out afterwards so the Nolan film will get audiences pumped for Pattinson as Batman if he is good in that film

Ah, I see.
To be fair, absolutely none of us has followed Robert Patterson's extensive low-budget art-house filmography he's been starring in since the Twilight saga, so I don't know if we really know what the current Robert Patterson is like as an actor.

Speaking of which The Lighthouse (by the director of The Witch) is getting good reviews st least.
A quote from one...
"Pattinson has been working at seemingly the peak of his acting prowess over the past two years in films such as Good Time and High Life, but he may have topped himself here. Usually known for playing the strong, silent type, Pattinson portrays with deep seeded frustration below the surface until he slowly reaches a passionate roar. The 33-year-old actor has simply never been this raw on screen before. There are moments where Pattinson is so transformative it’s jarring. You simply never thought he had it in him"
I will try & see The Lost City of Z at some point.
