I'm a psych nut, but despite all the parallels to real world psychology in Evangelion, the A.T Field goes without. It makes sense as a concept, a psychological barrier that seperates us, makes it to where we ourselves are the only ones who can ever completely and perfectly understand us, but I can't find a real term for it. Is there even one?

The closest thing it reminds me of is the philosophy of solipsism. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solipsism

Oo yeesh. Yeah I think I'm just gonna start using A.T. Field as a term. Maybe it'll catch on.

You're probably looking for something like "ego boundary" or "boundary of self". NGE itself uses this term to refer to the psychological dynamics of the pilots before it's revealed that Lilin also possess A.T. Fields. Real life psychology seems to have a preexisting conversation about the boundaries of self, though I'm not versed on what exactly it entails. Expect some differences, same as any other time NGE uses a concept from psychology or religion.
