A possible new design for Yui/Unit 1 throgh a sculpture model used for 3D model builds for FINAL? At Wonder Festival? Not so surprising because of the new designs for Kyoko/Unit 2 at Lantern Festival and Unit 8 as ICC in the teaser.

I just noticed, about that voice actor party we talked about in this topic.
Did I miss something or did nobody mention that Hikari's voice actress is there?
Unless she is in a flashback or some sort of psychological scene, this would mean she's alive. In any case, she'll be a character in the film (or one of her sisters?).

If they've survived, I guess it goes without saying that Kaji would also still be alive.

So we have some sites running news now that khara has just entered actual production on Evangelion 3.0+1.0, as if the past two years have only been development, which does not seem to reflect the fact that they've hired multiple rounds of animation staff that have reported to khara's offices well in the past.

Apparently it all boils down to khara's New Years party, and the banner that was translated, or posted as saying "New year party & Evangelion:3.0+1.0 Launching Party".

So, what exactly are they celebrating? What exactly are they launching? Isn't it more accurate to say that they're finally at that point where they have something resembling a rough or assembly cut, something they can dub to? Like, "launch" as in "we've got ourselves a film, we just need to get it finished and out the door". I look at it as the end is in sight, and they're ramping up to the release, not that they are actually starting animation production now. Otherwise, what has all that staff that they started hiring in Spring 2017 (and then later on) been doing for all of this time?

Didn't we see some stuff from the khara2 twitter last year that indicated they had already started animating? Plus there's that whole Eva 08 preview thing which is months old now.

"Launching" is a bad translation, see this.

Well, production can be defined many ways. In summer 2017 we got the "now in production" poster.
I'd say they are clearly animating.
To just be starting would mean they were in preproduction till now, but you don't hire animators for that.

It's actually more complicated. Miyazaki's films were technically simultaneously in pre, production and post. With shots being finished, while others were being animated, while the storyboards weren't done yet.

Edit: Checked the link, they're still mad about about the camrip of the trailer leaking last July and are getting the police involved..... They really need to get over that.

^ I don't think it's Khara specifically that's really that dedicated to taking that action on their own. Toho's lawyers are the scariest entertainment lawyers in the world. I would suspect that this effort is Khara trying to protect their relationship with Toho. At the same time, if that is the case, I do wonder why Toho's lawyers don't chew out the illegal uploaders themselves.

Meanwhile sexual offenders (of minors too) are left free after little time and are happily enjoying the spotlight (like the author of that one Shonen Jump manga, Toriko).
Maybe fix that?
10 years for that little upload?
Would leave a bad taste in my mouth to have this in connection with Eva.
