Hello.
I am a fan of Evangelion, among other things. I find that I can relate to a lot of the struggles and emotions that the characters in Eva experience. It's also got some of the best writing and cuts of animation in all of animedom. The skillfully constructed, ambitious and traumatic sequences in the latter half of the original TV series and EoE are quite visceral and provocative. From what I've seen and in my opinion, there aren't any anime that surpass or even equal it, although some do come close. Evangelion and some other works solidify Hideaki Anno as one of anime's visionaries. The Rebuild movies aren't included among them imo, but I am still very excited for the long-awaited final installment.

Haven't really been into Eva for like 10 years but felt compelled to join just now.
Probably because of the Netflix thing.
I was super obsessed with it from 2005 to 2007 after watching it on Adult Swim. It pretty much defined my teenage years.
I remember lurking this very forum too but never made an account for some reason.

Hey all.
Heard the news about Netflix and got me in the mood to post something.
Since I'm here, thought I update you guys that I'm doing great. I graduated college ages ago and basically taking things slowly in my life; been watching a lot of a movies, met a lot of friends, got a job that's lasted me two years as of this post and I've basically taken everything that I loved from these forums and trying to apply it elsewhere. Been considering writing, making a podcast, go back to school and gets a Masters, you know the drill, I'm young and ambitious.
I still miss the discussions about film on here, and I've been trying to fix that by holding streams of various movies that we've probably would of talked about like 5-8 years ago. You all are always in the back of mind when I do those streams, so for that, I guess thanks.
Hopefully I get a chance to talk here and there in the future. I've changed a lot from when I first posted here. I see I'm close to 2,000 posts. Maybe I'll make some comments like old times.
Lost contact for some of you. Would love to keep in touch again.

Re: Official "Hello/Goodbye" Thread!
Hello everyone. I stumbled upon Eva in the beginning of of this year, watched whole series and loved it. Watched the Rebuilds in summer where 3.0 left me so confused and depressed that I spent days upon days reading on forums, wikis, articles just to understand what the hell happened. I realized so many details and stuff I missed in first viewing, how there is Director's Cut, deleted storyboards, secrets that are easy to miss if you aren't paying attention. Then I rewatched the entire TV series again, this time with lot more attention. So in a way, thanks to Rebuild, I gained lot of appreciation and insight on Evangelion.
So after lurking, reading and browsing old threads on here for months, I finally decided to join in today. Looking forward to meet some of you and chat about everything Eva

Re: Official "Hello/Goodbye" Thread!
I am going to be honest with all of you. I have to start my life or I will forever find myself feeling negative and down on myself. So far, no place in Puerto Rico I have lived in is worth sticking around and this thought has always been in the back of my mind for the longest time to abandon everything and move to St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. I have traveled there many times in my youth so I hold special memories of that place so the time has come to prepare for either long hours in some office there or early retirement and concentrate my energies on that. I say so many times that I am done with Evageeks but I can safely say I can now live in a state of mind where I don't need this place anymore nor Evangelion to make me feel complete. I will treasure all the friendships I have made here and wish you all good luck on your future endeavors as well as enjoy the Final Rebuild movie. Maybe I will see it, just depends on whether I feel like it. Ciao!

Oh Gus, I'm super happy for you... But does it really have to be such a clean cut decision. It doesn't need to be only the one or the other, I think. Either way, best of luck on your endeavors!

Re: Official "Hello/Goodbye" Thread!
I don't know what I am looking for and I continuously feel like a deceiver when I announce that I wish to pursue some other place to escape my sins. Sometimes it feels like an addiction to which there's no escape, I feel like I should seek some religion for closure on my errors and stop wishing to leave my home because I am too accustomed to it.
In layman's terms what I am trying to say is that was a premature bell and I am not going anywhere because I am too used to my friends and family. Sorry for lying to everyone here and filling them with false hope. And I still plan on sticking around this site especially when Shin Eva finally comes around.

Hello, I've had an account for a while now (joined the same day the Netflix release was announced) but haven’t actually posted. I suppose I should at some point, so... I discovered Evangelion last year and watched the original series + EoE in one week then the Rebuilds the next. I found the wiki and this forum almost immediately after watching the first episode, but it took me a few months to create an account.

Welcome!
Someday I hope that we'll be reunited if that is what's destined to be. Perhaps we'll discover that elusive bible. And then we will finally be free!
