Favourite piece from the Eva OSTs?

Re: Favourite piece from the Eva OSTs?
The reprisals of old tracks in the soundtrack are great. They can completely change the tone, and by extension the core meaning of the piece (Happiness to hopelessness, the other way round and everything in between), which makes for a whole new experience when listening to them back-to-back. It carries a lot of weight to it, considering the tonal shifts in the show itself throughout coincides with said reprisals, it's pretty fitting if you ask me.
I do love me some Rei guns.

Even though I love the songs on Evangelion, to this day aside from the OP and ED titles I can barely identify a piece of Eva score. I wanted to find the song that goes with the Japanese version of the "Next Time on Evangelion" shorts at the end of each episode and if I am saying it incorrectly feel free to chime in, it's called "Peaceful Times"? That one and "Both of You, Dance Like You Want to Win" are instant hits with me.

It's Jikai Yokoku. Peaceful Times is the version with lyrics from 3.33.

Oh god, it's like being asked to choose between my children. Alright, I'll do it series and then films.
NGE: The Beast II, Rei I, Thanatos, Eva 02, Eva 01, A Step Forward Into Terror, Misato, Shinji, Don't Be
lol Death was shit.
EoE: ALL OF THEM. (Specifically False Regeneration, II Air, Substitute Invasion, The Passage of Emptiness, Thanatos - If I Can't Be Yours, KOMM SUSSER MUHFUGGIN TOD, Expansion of Blockade, and Opening of Dream. So yeah pretty much all of them.
NTE Jo (1.11): L'Attaque des Anges, Premiere Manoeuvre, Staggering Yet, Les Betes, Showdown, Strategie Yashima and all it's variants, Angel of Doom, Trailer Eva Special, and the two Demon MIDI test tracks, just because it's charming to hear these songs I'm so familiar with in MIDI form. Also Beautiful World.
NTE Ha (2.22): 2EM-04 E-04 (Eva 02), Yamashita, Destiny, Fate, 2EM-29 E-05 (The Beast), Carnage, 2EM-36 E-16 (The Beast II), Tsubasa wo Kudasai (I like the Akai Tori version better over all, but I much prefer this one's satisfying ending instead of AT's fadeout), and Beautiful World Planitb remix
NTE Q (3.33): all the Nadia rearrangements, Dark Defender, Return to Ash, It Will Mean Victory, Betrayal, The Wrath of God in All it's Fury, Kindred Spirits, Peaceful Times (Choeur), Sakura Nagashi, and Famously...

Re: Favourite piece from the Eva OSTs?
Hot take: the best song in Eva is Soul's Refrain (I never liked the overblown gospel-like coda of KsT).
Re: Favourite piece from the Eva OSTs?
I can't believe I forgot to list Shinji's personal theme. That one used to be my all-time favourite, I'm too much of a sucker for music that fits the character to a T. It doesn't help that it's orchestral, another weakness of mine.
These posts made me go back and listen to the full soundtracks, and by god there's so much good shit in there.

Re: Favourite piece from the Eva OSTs?
personally I enjoy Barefoot in the Park if I'm in the mood for relaxing but otherwise definitely ANGEL ATTACK III because of the uneasy vibe that it gives off
Re: Favourite piece from the Eva OSTs?
For a show that can be so chaotic at times, the quieter tracks help to alleviate the stress and bring attention to the more thoughtful moments. I like barefoot in the park, also.

This mostly unused part of the Thanatos track has been one of my favorites for a while now. When the track is listened to in its totally, I really like the emotional shift in the song.

The Red Ambassador is another piece that I like a lot, Asuka's arrival in 2.0 is the best kind of fanservice possible.

Re: Favourite piece from the Eva OSTs?
Hey! I'm a little late to the party, but I just joined the forum and I thought I'd chime in one of my favorite aspect of the franchise.
My two favorites are Thanatos (I actually got into Eva as a whole thanks to this song, but that's a story for another thread) and Komm, Süsser Tod, but those have been mentioned a bit already so I'm just gonna say I adore this version of Thanatos that plays during a pivotal moment in EoE. But there's so many good pieces in the show and the movies that it's almost ridiculous.

^ That track's use in EoE featured a played-down version of the previous unused part of Thanatos that had linked to above. It's a wonderful piece.

That's definitely one of the best episodes of the early/mid series run, I totally agree. The music definitely helps it!
