There's a small, thin green line in the sky in Évora. I assume it's a laser or something? Can't take a good picture of it.

Maybe it's something really stupid or normal but I have never seen anything like it before.

Update: And it's gone. I don't understand.

^Nah, I looked that up but it isn't anything like that. It was already completely dark when I saw it and it was up in the sky.

I'm going to try and talk to other people in the city today. Hopefully someone will have an explanation.

I've confirmed I'm not insane. Other people have seen the light. I am, however, still a bit shocked with how few people saw it. It's a green line in the sky!! Are people this unaware that they could not look up for a few seconds? It's true that a small green line isn't the most noticeable of phenomena, but I still thought there would be a significant amount of people seeing the thing.

One of my colleagues at the university told me he saw something similar when a meteor fell near him. A green light was left behind.

Considering this, it seems the most likely scenario is that I saw a ionization trail. The Wikipedia page says it can last up to 45 minutes, which is more or less the amount of time the light was visible.

So yeah, I think that answers it. Still, what a beautiful and unusual sight. It won't leave my mind anytime soon.

^ It sounds like something my wife and I witnessed a few years back. I never was able to find out what it was and as far as I know we were the only ones to see it.. We were driving home and it was late at night and we both see this green light coming straight down which seemed really close to us. Freaked us both out, I just remember pulling over and bracing for an impact that never came, looked up and it was gone. No crash, nothing and no word about it from anyone else near where I live.

I couldn't find the old thread so I'm making a new one so we can share about weird stuff in our lives.

Anyhow, here are some recent ones from my life. A few weeks ago we went to Red Lobster for my dad's birthday. My sister asked the general manager do you salute? She apparently gets military generals and general managers confused. XD She also asked my parents after dinner do lobsters have penises? XD The next day she was reminiscing about her camel ride at the Christmas tree farm last December. She then came up with the phrase I humped a camel. XD

This other one is from a week or two ago. My dad told us the story of how my brother was out on the roof naked at 2:30am because he was annoyed by bugs coming in through the air conditioner. So, basically he was naked and trying to kill bugs and somehow the air conditioner ended up on the roof. XD I wish my dad would've recorded this and put it on youtube or sent in to America's Funniest Videos. XD

The stuff that comes from my brother and sister are comedy gold. XD

Just like "Justacrazyguy" (No pun intended) three or fours years ago, I used to look at the sky for weird phenomenon at the window of my room.

And once, by accident, when the window was open (I never left it open if I chill out in the room, unless it's too hot or in need to open it for various reasons) when my arms were crossed at the exterior edge of the window (Is this how you call it in english?) I was gazing at the dark sky thinking about stuff, when sudenly three dots, forming a kind of isosceles triangle, appeared and started to move around in no particular direction. I dunno if it was "light yellow", or green, or another colors or if I confused it with another phenomenon in the sky I witnessed before. It happened maximum three times but never at the sames dates, month or years... (But it happened, I can tell for sure in the "2015-2017" period of my life.)

I think I even once saw or imagined a alien ship  the really cliche one with the big light bestowing the ground, that's look like a plate.Well dunno, but it was a little one, from how far away I was, anyway. I think I saw the underside of it, and it was projecting these blue triangular isosceles dots. I didn't even actively looking for it, I just saw it.

Don't ask me for proof because I didn't took pictures, and even if I would, I'll be sure the stuff light is already gone by the time my phone would be ready, and the pictures certainly would be shit.

My sister is a character. She invented the phrase cooking with thunder. She has nightmares about Big Bird and screams in her sleep. She's the main reason why my family needs a reality TV show on TLC.

I don't blame her to be scared and to got severals nightmares, if I was a kid, then I would do too be scared out of my shit and do severals nightmares about him too!

Do this is a character that's she enjoy watching at the tv on a regular basis, or is she scared of it even when she fully awake?

My sister is 25 years old and has Asperger's like myself along with other issues. She hates Sesame Street despite the fact that she loved it when she was little. Here are examples of her nightmares, Big Bird losing all of his feathers and then becoming a woman, Big Bird being stuffed like a Thanksgiving turkey and then being put into an oven, and Big Bird waiting for her under the mistletoe. Also, I did not make up these examples these are actual nightmares that she has told us. She is scared of Big Bird when she is awake. She was happy when Carroll Spinney died last year cause she thought that it would mean no more Big Bird. She also has a bad habit of punching Sesame Street character plushies at thrift shops. One time she even snapped the neck on my mom's Big Bird cookie cutter.

On an unrelated note my youngest brother is weird too. This year he finally got his first girlfriend at the age of 22. But my family thinks he's secretly gay due to past experiences. Him and his best irl friend have been caught wrestling and grabbing at each other's balls on the trampoline years ago by me and our old neighbor, they need in my mom's birdbath, and most recently we told my brother to go upstairs to his room and play with his friend, his response was maybe I will, and then a few minutes later his girlfriend walks in on him grabbing his best friend's balls. His online best friend is gay and they talk about weird shit together. He also walks around the house naked constantly and a few Summers ago my dad caught him naked on the rooftop in the middle of the night with the air conditioner and running around his bedroom naked trying to kill bugs. He also has a habit of clogging toilets and getting so badly constipated to the point where he's smeared shit on the walls and he's looked like he was pregnant causing my parents having to take him to the ER and they had to give him enemas. And this year he pissed in a Propel bottle and then threw it behind his bed only for my mom to find it while cleaning up his room and for my dad to get pissed off at him.

So yeah, it's just another crazy day at my house.

-Sorry if you didn't wanna enter this territory and if my answer is too privacy-peeking-

Wooow! :cringe: Well I'm really surprised, and deeply scared (in the sense of worried, not repulsion.) for you'r family (the siblings, particulary) because, it's hit home too close for me :dejected:

See, despite being relatively well intelligent, talkative a lot, and having a vivid imagination, when I was a young girl (kid) and until my few years preteen years (14-15) I was having a temperament (still have) but still kind of a coward, and I was generally cruel, sadistic, and I did have weird phobias/obssesions along with others weird attitude problems that's I'm not gonna list here, because it's not the point. For example, my infamous phobia of dust, (the one you find under the bed and washing up the floor) to which I've made a thread in the "dreams" one (Share you'r dreams.)

+, I was put in an institute medico educatif at the age or seven-or-eight. (that's what there are called in french under the really short acronym I.M.E. (don't try to search it with google english results, believe me, I've tried an re tried by changing some words and formulation, and it's freaking pointless, it's only about medical school -.-' I think it have another name in english, but I dunno which one anymore.)

I dunno too exactly the date of the year, or my age but I can said it was in the early 2000 before 2010, and that's I was still a little kid

And oh boy, did stuff happen in this place between my own weirdness and the ones of others :hahaha: it did waken up in me some long sleeping emotions that's I though dissapear, but I know deep inside, there were just under a pile of soil. And did I cause trouble for others and my family

Naturally, it got me really worried for you'r sister, because I guess I see myself in pretty much every troubled kids that's have walked on this planet

Soo..Sorry to ask the question, but... I'm not trying to insult you and you'r family, but... Did you tried to, I dunno like the first thing my parent did for me about it (which for me was pretty useless, weird and annoying, but who know if it help some stuff at that's time) , see a child psychiatrist when there were youngs? Did your sis go to the "everybody average" school or?... I just have so many questions, but since it impolite on a first talk, and if you don't want to talk about it, you can simply ignore this answer or questions that's you wish to keep privates.

Princess Asuka, this is indeed an awful deal to play the game of life.

I think you have one advantage though: you know what's really going on around and nobody hides the truth away from you. This allows you to make the right decisions; if you were lied to, you'd be doomed to pure fortune and misfortune, as coin flips. Being a seriously sheltered kid myself and basing on false premises, I made several wrong decisions in my life; one of them triggered schizophrenia. Also, I was unable to start living on my own, due to less than miserably developed social skills. Then I wasted two decades on doing nothing and all I can do now is to curse my major upbringer (and yes, my own stupidity too).

So. If I was in your position (as I'm not, but still), I'd took inspiration from Rei Q arc and try to find some better environment for myself out there, in the wide world. Why? 'Cause I want to.

I still live at home cause I don't have anywhere else to go and I sure as Hell don't wanna end up in a group home where they take away your freedom. Dealing with my family I've learned to laugh a lot. For example, a few weeks ago my brother was naked and let his friend in the house. My brother's excuse when my dad chewed him out was it's nothing my friend hasn't seen before which implies that his friend has seen him naked before.

Okay, you got point; sense of humor indeed can keep one's sanity in one piece. :D

But I wasn't thinking of group home or any shelter like that. I posted, because I recalled a passage from an essay of a Polish sci-fi writer, a philosopher with diploma. This stuff needs to be verified imo, but he basically said that Silicon Valley magnates readily employ Aspies because of their personality traits, which make them better software developers than neurotypicals. Software developer is a wide notion, including eg. a person whos job is to test what coders have written and fscked up and through in the process. And testing sometimes means simply clicking through an app and reporting when it goes dumb, or crashes, or cannot complete its task, or whatever goes wrong with it.

Darn, I've just searched and bloody Peter Thiel goes even further - he says Asperger's helps to become a successful SilVal enterpreneur. source

It happened again, my mom was cleaning out my brother's room and she found a small bottle with piss in it again. And my sister is still bizarre. A couple of months ago we were watching a YouTube video of the top 10 Superbowl commercials of 2021 and she saw the Doordash Sesame Street commercial and when Big Bird appeared onscreen she mooned and flashed him.
