The Blu-ray is Region Free, typical of Japanese Blu-rays. Watched it on my UK PS4. I'm away from my PC for the week but I can take some screen shots next week if anyone wants.

So, where can this boxset be bought again?

You can buy it at CD Japan.

It's a 3-disc Bluray set, so the $170 price tag isn't surprising for Japan. (Still a bit steep, though.) CD Japan sells it at around $150 before shipping, which is only about 6 bucks. Be prepared to wait a month for shipping, though.

I tried to see if someone was reselling it on the US Amazon site for a cheaper price, but no luck.

And, just on the subject of great films with English subs, the original version of the 1995 film Ghost in the Shell is on Bluray with English subs on CD Japan, as well as the live-action film adaptation of Moyoco Anno's Sakuran. You'd be surprised how many films you don't need to wait for a decent States release for if you simply prefer English subs over dubs.

Thank you so much! I didn't want to buy something I could not watch. But I love Shiki Jitsu, and I've only ever seen it in shit quality. So I don't care how much it costs. English subs & region free sealed the deal for me. You've helped me out a great deal, thanks!

Thankfully, both Ghost in the Shell and Sakuran have nice German releases, but I threw in the Eva Blu-Ray for good measure :3

I own this. I can attest that, at least, Love & Pop and are US compatible and have english subtitles. I played the movies on my PS3 and the quality for L&P is less than stellar but Ritual looks spot on.

I tried to verify if L&P was also the extended cut but it looks like it's the original run. I have to double check since it's been years and years since I've seen either.

The case comes with a lovely little booklet with production photos, storyboards and illustrations. Ritual comes with the soundtrack but not in CD format.
Not who you think I am.

I've seen the original run quite a few times on Kino's DVD release, and it seems to be lacking the scenes where some of the girls talk about touching themselves that the BD contains. I think this is the extended version.

Also, Love & Pop looks as good as could be expected given the Mini DV cameras used to shoot the movie. I'm just glad the BD doesn't window box the film like the DVD did. (I think Kino did that to compensate for CRT TV's inability to scan the entire frame, as those TVs would always crop off the edges of the picture.)

I need this, but I have to wait for now. It's just too expensive.

I love the pink cover btw.

If anybody felt like doing it, pictures of the booklet would be super cool. To get an idea how it looks.

(If somebody feels like doing that)
Shinji: "Sooner or later I'll be betrayed... And they'll leave me. Still... I want to meet them again, because I believe my feelings at that time were real."
Ryuko: "I'm gonna knock ya on your asses!"
-Asuka: THINK IN GERMAN!!! -Shinji: Öh... Baumkuchen...
Hayashida: "As game developers, our work is special. All of us here can put smiles on very many people's faces with our work."
