Yeah. You read right. This is for everything that doesn't have anything to do with Eva.

My streaming server can now stream live TV and radio (I have 145 channels on Freeview here) to any computer in the house, and to mobile devices when out. It has four tuners, so several shows at once is allowed. This is off air, not Internet.

I have just started recording to disk my video of an opera performance I put on in 1989.

My first wife and I started an opera group (and my present wife, as one of her pupils, took part). The first few performances I recorded audio only. Then for a couple more I put up a static video camera, and for the last I manned it to zoom and pan. Then we split up.

The recording can be played on any video, but none other than the original could ever play the audio channels properly. However, my wife kept that, and later when I asked to borrow it only a few years later, it was broken and disposed of. Then three years ago I found on ebay a working example of the exact same original video deck - and it plays the tapes perfectly! But it's taken me until today to get working a means of recording the output in my computer.

It's now going through Rossini's An Italian Girl in Algiers. Also to come: Mozart's Don Giovanni (when I've fixed the broken tape) and Die Zauberflöte.

This feels a bit weird to say, but as of yesterday I am a married woman! It was a pretty untraditional marriage, done pretty much solely for the legal benefits. Neither of us give the custom any symbolic weight, and we care so little about the ceremonial aspects that we went out of our way to avoid them. No rings, no celebration, no name changes: just paperwork and hugs from the family. Getting married is supposed to be a big deal, but I guess when the relationship itself isn't affected by it in any way that's important... it really isn't a big deal.

On another note, after resisting gimmicky-sounding diets for several years and getting no benefit from doing so, I finally gave in. I started NutriSystem over a week ago -- that one specifically because my sister had seen very visible results with it, so my parents were willing to invest in the plan for me. First week was intentionally brutal, basically boot camp for your stomach, forcing it to get used to the idea of proper portion sizes (which, if you've let yourself become a total fatty like me, look RIDICULOUSLY tiny) and to feeling satisfied with non-starchy vegetables in between meals. For my part, I have been doing quite badly (lack of impulse control in the dark hours is a bitch), but people still say I look thinner already, so whatever -- I'll keep on truckin' and see what happens.

Congrats yet again on gettin' hitched ^_^ (At the very least, there will be name changes/rings whenever Zap and I tie the knot, but we're both very :uhh: about the overly ceremonious nature to everything, you know?)

I hope the diet change works well for you! Some family is trying portion control (e.g: sensible eating) alongside exercise, and that seems to be the weight loss "key" for them, when they've tried things like Weight Watchers, the Keto diet, etc, etc, in the past.

Also: You're welcome, and thanks so much for sending things my way  I didn't even realize myself that 2 of the Discs were missing—I suppose these days, the Collector's Discs are super hard to find on the eBays/etc?

Definitely with P3P, the male MC before female MC is the "right" order if you haven't yet played it (the female scenario adds new Social Links not in the original male scenario), I think you'll enjoy Persona 3 because it feel very "Eva" like to me. (Heck, Ogata and Ishida are in the Japanese version, too, though I won't spoil which characters~) Persona 4 is excellent in its own right, but I got burned out due to 2 different anime series in addition to the original + remake game(s)... :dizzy:

I guess that's where some of us differ, then. Ash and I went through with it while passing through Reno last May on vacation. I did have a ring for her but there were no name changes and there was no one else there at the "wedding" besides us and the minister/Elvis impersonator (no, really). And that was enough for us, I suppose. Absolutely zero pomp and circumstance.

Oh, and congrats to you and Zap as well. ^_^

I found out today that my dad bought me a new digital watch online which will arrive tomorrow. I am relieved to not have to depend on my cell phone to tell the time because the last watch I possessed (which was an analog) was last in use years ago.

Heh. For me, "pomp and circumstance" = Paying over a thousand bucks for the dress/wedding itself and having a huge party, which...I just feel that money can be better spent on a house down payment or whatever else. Better to have small get-togethers when you're visiting each group of friends or family, I think, especially if family has to travel from East and West coasts both (let alone from other countries :sweatdrop:)

Oh, and congrats to you and Zap as well. ^_^

Which was exactly what we did, all that saved money/stress went towards our move to the Great White North. It was all worth it in both cases, though.

...Well my wife graduates this May, and something we've talked about was for me to go back to school when she's done. So I went ahead and signed myself up for college..and while I'm scared and nervous I'm excited to go back and hopefuly get myself a higher paying job in the future..The main advisor i talked to was real helpful and friendly and let me know which classes to start out with. So I'm hopeful I'll be able to handle the classwork along with being a new parent and a full time employee.:)

And Reichu, seems like a very low-key affair, but the fact that you wanted to share it here tells me, that you're proud of that decision! As you should! Congratulations :)
