This picture is actually an illustration from a fanfic by marcoasalazarm (the same guy who wrote the fanfic series Superwomen of EVA, which you may or may not have heard of) showing Mari as a Tarzan-esque jungle queen with a pet saber-tooth tiger.

Given cloning is a thing in Eva. Why wouldn't there be Extinct Mammals in Zoos and why wouldn't Mari being a total nutjob try to befriend them?

Great illustration so far! Sounds like an interesting fanfic too, I’ll check it out. And I can’t say I’m surprised at all that Mari would be a jungle queen, or want to be friends with a sabre-toothed cat. Sabre-toothed “tigers” weren’t tigers, but the media doesn’t seem to mind spreading misinformation about extinct animals. Dinosaurs had feathers, dammit. I’m really good at hiding my autism, aren’t I?
