Nope, now he is just bloody taunting us who are aware of his crimes, he isn't even putting up the faintest hint of trying to distance himself. Him & this film can go fuck themselves.

Judy Greer (jurassic world) is rumored to play Jamie Lee Curtis's Laurie Strode's daughter in David Gordon Green's Halloween.
Presumably said daughter's daughter will be the lead in the film?

The Snowman with Michael Fassbender, Rebecca Ferguson, JK Simmons & Val Kilmer and by the director of Let the right one in & Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c44kam_8N3I

Comes out this weekend & is getting apocalyptically bad reviews.
http://oneofus.net/2017/10/highly-suspe ... e-snowman/
Some calling it the worst movie of the year.
The director has already come out and stated that 15% of the script didn't get filmed because they were so rushed by the studios.

There's a fascinating documentary to be made about the production of The Snowman & I would love to see it one day. The script for this movie started gaining major traction back in 2011 due to the current popularity & massive hype for David Fincher's The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. I've never read the book but it must hold some promise as the original script was so good that it snatched up Martin Scorsese to direct & Leonardo DiCaprio to star. For a loooong time it was going to be this or The Wolf of Wall Street. They went with Wolf & then Scorsese left the director's chair having decided it was time to focus less on for hire jobs & more on his passion projects (he's arguably done three in a row with the now cancelled HBO show Vinyl - he took his long-existing project The Long Play & picked elements for a show, Silence & now his currently shooting The Irishman) but they replaced him with a great director and then put together an amazing.

Then somewhere along the way it all went to shit.

Would love to hear the how and why of this movie. A colleague saw it and said Val Kilmer has about 15 minutes of screen time and his entire performance is dubbed by another actor.

New Paul Thomas Anderson with possibly Daniel Day-Lewis' final performance is a very splendid thing:

(Though a lot of people hoping for an angry, busting yo' head open with a bowling pin reunion like There Will Be Blood will probably leave disappointed. The film is rated R for just "Language")

Kevin Spacey has been fired from House of Cards by Netflix.
I do hope they continue the show with Clarie as President.

This also leaves his upcoming recently finished Netflix movie Gore up in the air.

I just hope it's cancelled outright and they never show us Season 6. I'd rather just leave it all up in the air rather than ruin whatever ending they had planned with Spacey's termination.

To be fair, HoC has been useless since real-world American politics overshadowed its theatricality 2 years ago.

I think I stopped watching around season 3, so I haven't had any stake in this game for a while.
Among the people who use the Internet, many are obtuse. Because they are locked in their rooms, they hang on to that vision which is spreading across the world. But this does not go beyond mere ‘data’. Data without analysis [thinking], which makes you think that you know everything. This complacency is nothing but a trap. Moreover, the sense of values that counters this notion is paralyzed by it.

And so we arrive at demagogy. - Hideaki Anno, 1996

RED SONJA movie in production.

There aint no way they're going to have Red Sonja actually wear the chain mail bikini though. I mean, not even Marvel with all the audience goodwill in the world thought they could have Ms./Captain Marvel in the lightning bolt leotard or Jessica Jones in the Skintight Jewel outfit.

The Mcu is playing it family safe with Captain Marvel and they seem determined to make her the Superman of Marvel in both comics & film. With Jessica Jones/Elecktra were trying to be ultra grounded & practical.
(and to be fair, there is no reason Jewel's outfit & design would not work with the same material as Black Widow's suit or Dceu Superman's textured thick leather/rubber, it just should not be spandex)

I question more then those examples, them seemingly following Tessa Thompson's opinion that strong female characters have to wear pants which is bullshit as Wonder Woman proves and IMO Dejah Thoris did in John Carter (Lynn Collins actually pushed for a more revealing outfit then what Disney originally intended), what with them leg covering Valkyrie & the black female guards in BP.

Red Sonja will almost certainly be rated R if they are trying to be faithful & do it right and she is a more obscure character & isn't part of a larger universe so they have a lot more leeway then the Mcu has.
As much as it seems like it at times, we haven't gone full anti sex appeal yet. Remember the 1st trailer for Atomic Blonde showed off the lesbian sex scene a good deal, Munn convinced them to allow a faithful Psylocke outfit, Mera will have massive cleavage in Aquaman, Mystique is still walking around basically naked.

EDIT - Remember in 2009 we were suppose to get a Red Sonja movie and they made it crystal clear immediately that they would have the chain mail with these official proof of concept posters.
(if your not aware this project fell through because Rose was injured and permanently damaged the mobility in her arm, Amber Heard was going to play her under director Simon West later on but that went nowhere also)

She doesn’t have to have the bikini. It’s dumb and will look terrible on screen, and a woman can be in full plate armor even without boob lumps and still be sexy.

I’m sure they’ll find a pleasing aesthetic balance between a costume that makes the actress look good and appearing somewhat functional. It would be great if she can just be a protagonist and not a walking pin up poster.

If the film is directed by a woman the bikini could work but there’s no way a man could direct a movie about a half naked (90% naked?) woman.

Besides, it’ll suck if she’s in a bikini and pristine and pretty all the time. I want to see her covered in other people’s blood with an enemy’s flesh clenched in her teeth. She Devil with a Sword, please. If I want to play the skin flute to Res Sonja I can google search or stare at my impressive statue collection.

I have a Red Sonja statue collection.

If there’s anything to worry about with this movie and Captain Marvel it’s that Disney/Marvel studios tend to shy away from showing women committing/subjected to violence in the MCU. That’s why Black Widow can be so boring in the hands of someone like Whedon who isn’t inventive enough to make the spy character interesting in a spy way (there’s literally a scene in AOU where Tony is doin spy shit while Natasha is prancing around outside. Hold the spy in reserve and send Iron Man into the enemy base. That makes sense. I digress...) and is so much better in the Cap movies.

Also, guys... skintight outfits are rare in superhero movies becaue skintight outfits look completely fucking stupid most of the time. It’s almost impossible to create that kind of costume. It’ll either look like it’s from the 60s Batman show, or it turns into less a costume and more a prosthetic/makeup application. Superhero costumes look the way they do in comics because most artists draw the characters as nudes with nipless boobies and ken doll bulges. Hell, Greg Land traces some of his art from actual pornography.

There are plenty of sexy clothes in real life that aren’t spandex and movie costumes need to be created with an understanding of lighting, anatomy, movement, etc. we really don’t want to go back to the era of Batman being unable to turn his head in movies. (I do like how that impacts Keaton’s physical performance in the suit though)

Also, Wonder Woman doesn’t wear pants in her movie, but she’s also not running around with her ass cheeks hanging out of her hoplite skirt. I thought she looked sexier in the civilian clothes she wore from the department store, which covered way more skin than her battle armor.

^A big part is how women in movies are shot.

I watched all 140 minutes of Wonder Woman with a friend in theaters this summer and never once found myself going "there's her ass". A month or so later we went to another movie and a trailer for Justice League came out & one of the first images in the trailer is a slow mo shot of Wonder Woman sliding on the floor and using her foot to kick a man's legs out all while thrusting her ass out towards camera. I leaned over to my friend & said "Guess they shortened her skirt" & her response was "No, her skirt in the Wonder Woman movie was that short too, they just never had a cootch cam."

I didn't believe her at first - I'm a thirsty bisexual who loves skin - but then after the movie we looked at some photos from Wonder Woman online & she was right. Her skirt in Wonder Woman & Justice League are the same length. I just recently rewatched Wonder Woman on VOD & sure enough, her skirt in Patty Jenkins movie is super short but the camera never really objectives her.

Stop assuming these are mutually exclusive and stop assuming that just because pin up style sex appeal is of value to us that we do not care about her character/personality portrayal at the same time.

View Original PostGendo'sPapa wrote:her skirt in Patty Jenkins movie is super short but the camera never really objectives her.

Focusing on a visually pleasing body part for a tiny handful of seconds does not make her a object

If a husband & wife are about to have sex or are on the beach & said wife is in a bikini and he briefly looks down at her breast instead of her face does he somehow magically cease to care about her in anyway besides said breast? No?
Wells it's the exact same with fictional characters in entertainment, we can care about & be emotionally invested in a character but also enjoy periodic focusing on aspects that makes said character visually pleasing to see on screen without loosing said emotional investment.

And for the record, I watched WW for the first time a few weeks ago (still need to type up a review for it) and perhaps I was looking for them specifically because I had heard there was a absence of them but there was 2-4 ass shots in the film to my relief, just not lingering ones or in slow mo.

This concept modern feminist/sjws have conjured up that we can either care about a female character or care about her body with no middle ground or overlap is just so far beyond utterly preposterous & sadistic to me.

View Original PostChuckman wrote:I’m sure they’ll find a pleasing aesthetic balance between a costume that makes the actress look good and appearing somewhat functional.

I saw this recommendation elsewhere & it is a compromise I would be down with.

Take this outfit she had a few years back and add the chain mail in their normal format but just over the fur. http://www.petervbrett.com/wp-content/u ... olor14.jpg

View Original PostChuckman wrote:Besides, it’ll suck if she’s in a bikini and pristine and pretty all the time. I want to see her covered in other people’s blood with an enemy’s flesh clenched in her teeth. She Devil with a Sword, please.

Oh absolutely.
She should end up looking like this at least once in the film.
Image
And she should look muddy & unclean In general. Her looking clean & pristine would look more out of place then the bikini IMO.

Lastly that actress in the bloody shot is Antje Traue from Pandorum (she also played Faora in Mos) I would be extremely down for her playing Sonja.

View Original PostChuckman wrote:male gaze

I genuinely am not trying to make a personal attack but acting like male sexual attraction to the female form is somehow how morally or ethically wrong is bloody evil, misandristic & gives legitimacy to the idiots screaming about feminazis.
This is why modern "feminism" needs to go the fuck away.
Women want equal rights under the law, absolutely 100% agree, give it to them now that should be the case regardless if feminism as a movement exist.

No one is asking for ass/cleavage shots in every or even most scenes in a film, just A FEW.
With feminist praising Wonder Woman for supposedly having none that sends the message that men are not allowed to be pandered to ever even for a tiny handful of seconds that make up a individual shot.
That is not equality.
