I agree 100 percent with that violence/emotional abuse in any relationship gay/lesbain or heterosexual is not healthy period and it annoys me how many artists do this with Mari/Asuka as its really bad taste.

I would recommend exp /exp / かみや's as his/her art for Mari/Asuka is really healthy and sweet.

It's not an excuse, it's simply what a tsundere is: an imaginary character usually grumpy and a bit violent with the character they love. It's not supposed to be a real relationship.

Yeah I get this but I also thought that the whole idea was once a tsundere character is in relationship with the female or male character they have feelings for the comical over the top violence stops because in reality its a shield to stop the love interest seeing that they are in love with them and they show there softer more loving side and that's where my issue comes from in Mari/Asuka art and some Shinji/Asuka art. As this violence is shown as carrying on even when the relationship is portrayed as sexual and that's deeply problematic and though I get that Asuka will forever be a bit rouge around the edges and be somewhat abrasive her hitting a lover is just one step to far for me.

Yep, pretty much how Shinji was like in EoE. And I can sorta see something like this happening in the last film, he goes through all kinds of shit that people would throw at him until he decides to give everyone and the entire world the middle finger.

Can't say I blamed him, though. He suffered so much because of how people treated him. (Looking at you Asuka! And especially you, Gendo!!! ) Needless to say, that he should have gotten a little more respect. Otherwise, he wouldn't have gone to such drastic measures, such as ending the world. But I guess Asuka could gain the same respect that Shinji probably needs, and maybe she'll do the same in return.
