soul.assassin sent me the link, a bunch of old Anno illustrations with some background, lots of Daicon stuff, early 80's stuff. A pretty cool read.

Very interesting read.

Partially related but does Anno still draw for the Evangelion movies? The only Rebuild arts I've seen made by Anno are the lanterns.

Sure does! He's involved with storyboarding, design work, layouts, and key frame animation.

Is there any known scene in the movies animated by Anno?

As far as I know it's about an explosion per movie that he does all by himself. He is an effects animator after all.

In 1.0 it's the explosive bolts that drop Eva-01 out of Ramiel's beam (source for this is 1.0 CRC)
Can't remember what it was in 2.0 but I'm about 90% confident he did get his big boom dose there and it's also somewhere in the 2.0 CRC
In 3.0 it's the 2D explosions around the 3DCG Eva-02 during Operation US (iirc the confirmation for this is the Eva Exhibit) https://sakugabooru.com/post/show/17903
