I also discovered Stardew Valley this year. Considering how much I loved playing the original SNES version of Harvest Moon, this thing just went and reignited that slumbering love into a raging firestorm.
Video games aside, my mother successfully made it another year in fairly decent health despite having had two forms of cancer and recent preventative surgery a few months back (Never mind the bad car accident that happened to her just before the surgery itself). Despite the sometimes-nigh-constant ugliness we see and on occasion personally experience, there's always still wonderful, beautiful things in this world that I am personally grateful for.
Granted, the sociological impact of his election is far from what I wanted, but things seem to slowly be heading in the right direction, as evidenced by these two things, which I mentioned in another thread but will now actually provide links to.
