Multi-quote button

Multi-quote button
On many forums there a multi-quote button near the normal quote button to select more than one post at once. I think it could make the UI more user friendly.

Re: Multi-quote button
However, since the ability to quote multiple posts is already present within the UI, there might not be much benefit from adding it. In any case, for the same reason, there doesn't appear to be a modification of that kind available, so it would have to be written from scratch.
For those who don't realise, this is how you can do it. While writing a response to one quote, if you scroll down you can find a window below the submit button where you can scan through other posts in the thread and insert them at the cursor position; the only difference from the original quote is that no clickable link to the quoted post is provided in this instance. The multiple quotes are limited to one thread, of course.

Re: Multi-quote button
For those wondering why, that's because the clickable link feature is not a native part of the forum software, but rather something I wrote, and I didn't know about the multi-quote feature at the time.

Re: Multi-quote button
The quote buttons in the topic review pane are, I believe, something that was added in phpBBv3 and so became available when we upgraded just over a year ago.
Personally, I've always multi-quoted by right-click -> new tab on each of the messages involved and then copying selections from the second and subsequent tabs into the first, so I'd never even noticed those quote buttons before today.
