trailer wrote:A movie featuring the Japanese anime style that takes place in the Arabian Peninsula and concerns an ambitious young man who decides to challenge the tyranny and the rule of the law of the jungle and bandits to build a world filled with peace and love.
Hmmm...
God's Beloved Prophet (SAW) wrote: "Help your brother, whether he is an oppressor or he is an oppressed one. People asked, "O Apostle of God! It is all right to help him if he is oppressed, but how should we help him if he is an oppressor?" The Prophet said, "Prevent him from becoming an oppressor - that is how you help him." (Sahih Al Bukhari Book #43, Hadith #624)

This really doesn't seem interesting in any way.

Ah, I see they're placing it in the brief and often forgotten period where all Arabs wore white, exclusively. Except for a select few who wore white AND a black coat.
Amarantos - an NGE AU, beginning with Asuka, Shinji, and a garden. Take a look. Couldn't hurt.

What's interesting is that for a company that pretty much said that Pleiades would be it, game over, go home, nothing to see here, they're still being remarkably active.

Been awhile since gainax did anything that was some kind of moe sellout anime. Wonder if this will be any good?

Re: New Gainax animation -- Desert Knight
^Kinda doubt it. All the visionary artists who made Gainax feel so special have jumped ship to either Hideaki Anno's Khara, Hiroyuki Imaishii's Studio Trigger or elsewhere. Unless I misread things, like Evangelion which they no longer seem to hold any rights for, it doesn't even appear like Gainax has a hand in the new episodes of FLCL that are being made.
Maybe one day down the road Gainax could do a collaborative work with one of the younger studios. I mean I still think it would be great to have another 6-part Gunbuster sequel series helmed by the next generation of filmmakers in their studio family - TRIBUSTER by Hibiki Yoshizaki (Me!Me!Me!) perhaps? - but seeing how things are going would not be surprised if Gainax doesn't own Gunbuster anymore either.

Re: New Gainax animation -- Desert Knight
Yesterday I saw this interview from 2014 (relevant bit at 10:30) in which the translator gives Hiroyuki Yamaga as saying:
And then Takami Akai:
Noir then talks about the potential Sadon-Desu anime. Anyway, the relevant element is that GAINAX is apparently making Desert Knight specifically to appeal to fans in the Middle East.
So they're really focusing on the Middle East right now, and the Middle Eastern fans. They are similar to anime fans in Japan in the past. And so, it kind of encourages us to bring back the old style, but in that process, we also create something new. So that's kind of what we're trying to do right now.
And then Takami Akai:
So, Mr. Yamaga is working on the Middle East, and I am working on the Japanese countryside. And seeing if we can make things like that we've been making for 30 years in Tokyo, and bring that to the countryside areas around Japan.

I'm confused. This article seems to imply that there's only a trailer, but then it says "ARiNAT began streaming the anime on Tuesday with both Japanese and Arabic text." So by "anime," do they mean the trailer, or do they mean a full series?
