Its been ages since I've posted, but my collection has grown a bit. I also got this Eva prize figure http://myfigurecollection.net/item/331829 that came out less than a week ago.

*Sees this in Wal-Mart* "Awesome! Huh? $20? That's ridiculous."

*Walks by again a while later* "But there's no way I'm leaving here without Egan."

Egan Spengler action figure, ladies and gentlemen. Surprisingly well-made and highly articulated for something you find in the toy section at Wal-Mart.

Also, I got a new cell phone.

Image

Been wanting to get a flip phone again for so long! Finally, no more scratched screens! No more pocket dialing! No more turning on in my pocket and running the battery dry! :mwahaha:
And I can still open it with one hand, proof that I grew up in the '90s.

Is bumping this okay? It was only on page two. In taking advice on trying to get back into other titles and media I enjoy, I finally went and finished my collection for Dragon Ball Z.

I also own all of Dragon Ball and GT. Can't wait to marathon the #1 show of my childhood. Now I just need to start on getting the movie packs and the Blu-ray copies....
Please just call me Ian, "TheFrisky" is more of a title.

Made the executive decision to start investing time back into my guitar playing once again so yesterday I went and bought a Blackstar HT1R, which is a cute little 1 watt valve combo. Best decision I could have made. Getting tones out of the little guy that I could never quite achieve with my 30 watt hybrid modeling amp. I can finally see why most guitarist say valve amps are best. Being 1 watt, I can crank it without it being deafening (Don't me me wrong as it is quite loud but on a level that is perfectly comfortable) and get all of that great overdriven valve tone without pissing off the neighbors.

I then promptly sold my old amp and used the money to buy my nephew a bass amp for his birthday since his self present was a pretty nice bass  Which despite never playing bass before, I am quite good at it already since he let me mess around with it. (He is not to shabby himself for just beginning)

Picked up the Berserk anime boxset from HMV on a trip to Guildford recently. I was originally going to buy either K-On! or Kill Me Baby, but then I saw that beautiful black and red box and just decided "Screw it, Berserk it is".

Decided to replace that 500w PSU after a few years, in part because of MTBF. So before I get that RX 470, after battling traffic to make it to a computer store several miles away, I bought a Seasonic S12, which carries 620w and should be more than enough.

My motorola droid mini was finally dying (not holding much charge and frequent overheating), so why not go for the trendy new hotness? My only regret is that "quite black" was sold out in the 128 version, so I had to get it in "very silver" instead.

My copy of the new release of The Vision of EscaFlowne has shipped. :D However, I am in South Africa - I hope this doesn't create confusion over the delivery (it may depend on how long the couriers will keep the package for collection) :cringe:

There's a disc replacement scheme, FYI. Depending on where you bought your set, you might have to jump through some hoops.

^What kind/brand was it?

My sister got me one of the cheap ones that you just slot your phone into, which was pretty near except that I can't wear my glasses under it so I have to experience the wonderful world of VR with my blurry short-sighted vision.

For Christmas, I usually get either albums by bands I want to hear more of or an Amazon gift card.

For the albums (Ranked from most favorite to least favorite by Number)
1: In Rainbows - Radiohead (Now all I need is Hail to the Theif)
2: Ágætis byrjun - Sigur Ros (First album I own that's entirely sung in a different language)
3: Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band - The Beatles (Can't believe I haven't it's taken me this long to get this consideing I was a huge Beatles fanatic as a kid (And still am).
4: Hounds of Love - Kate Bush
5: Symbolic - Death (Now my first official death metal album).
6:The Sensual World - Kate Bush

(My mom hinted that there may be more coming. I suspect it to be either Lift Yr. Skinny Fists Up Like Antennas to Heaven by Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Blood on the Tracks by Bob Dylan, or The Dreaming by Kate Bush.)

...and the first expansion of Cards Against Humanity. I would've gotten more Eva-related stuff, but seeing as how the best figurines are a lot of money, I'm sadly saving it for my birthday.

Oh well, at least I have the series and EoE to watch on DVD.

Well for Christmas I got a nice french press and really good coffee from my sister. My parents got me a very nice Milwaukee M18 Drill/driver and impact driver set and a set of bits. (Well they took me Christmas eve to pick them out since I will be the one using them) I use these things almost daily for work and with the upcoming installs I have this year as well as no longer having to take turns using the little Bosch drill/driver we have at work with my boss, they are a much needed and appreciated thing to have. (Not to mention the Bosch we have at work is super under powered.)

Used the drill/driver today for various tasks including drilling out some stainless and it was an absolute joy to use.

My nephew I am awaiting my present from him, but we agreed it was ok since he does not have a lot of money right now.

I got a bunch of nice stuff for Christmas, including a plush Facehugger, a robot waifu and a whole bunch of edibles.

However, that's not what I'm here to tell you about. Because on this fine day, in my local comic shop I picked up the entire Evangelion series (I think) for the fairly reasonable sum of £45, which didn't seem too bad considering I've seen the DVD set sold for £500 on the secondary market before. It wasn't the Platinum collection or Blu-Ray set or anything (it was the old ADV individual volumes) but considering I got all 8 volumes + the DCs of 24-26 for £5 a box, I think I did pretty well. I've got the Blu-Ray rips (with awful, awful subtitles) on my PC anyway, but there's something so very satisfying about having the physical release. I might be missing the first set of DC eps, but they didn't have them in the store, and I have the entire series proper on DVD so that's something. I'll probably buy the blu-ray set if it ever comes out over here for a sensible price, but for now I'm happy.

I also picked up both halves of Oban: Star Racers, which was a childhood favourite of mine and a steal at £10 for the whole series.
Here lies Squigsquasher.
