Uh.... I just saw posts on another page change to "You shouldn't have done that", also put into the poster title, with blanked out avatars.

Kind of wish I took an image now... is it a prank?

It's a reference to the 'Ben drowned' creepy Legend of Zelda hack/ urban legend.

Same happened to me when I freshly logged in and opened the superhero movie thread.

Probably, the icon the post had was a elf and then switched to the above...

I thought the staff was here to protect us from spooks.

I feel violated.

It's because it's a separate computer that it happened again.

As with the yearly April Fool's pranks, the prank code sets a cookie on your browser that ensures it happens only on the first visit with a specific browser on a specific machine. Visit the site again with a different computer or even a different browser and the cookie will not be there, so the prank occurs again. A cookie is just a bit of data (in this case, a "1" labeled "halloween2016") that a website asks your computer to remember for X amount of time. I set the prank cookie to expire after 2 days because I intend to keep the prank up for just 24 hours, but you can also delete it manually if you want to see the prank again.

Ah, right. Well I'm glad it was a prank and not a horrendous bug/presence of spooks in the sewers. I was getting worried. But then, I suppose them's the rubs of being an overly literal autist who takes everything at face value.

How did I get into Eva again?

This time just elapsed, so I only just now deactivated it.
