Yeah that is a shame, I was looking forward to seeing what he was gonna do with it. Still I suppose he is doing what's best for the comic and hope that he can return to it eventually and resume it how he wants to.

That's a shame, but it's likely for the best that you're not working on it while you're lacking the drive.

Hopefully he'll come back soon, but at least he's working on other interests as well.

I had no idea this thread had been bumped or that any of this conversation had taken place. My sincere and deep apologies.

I had a rough period of complete burnout and even wanting to avoid the issue completely. I'll get into that later since I have to get to bed soon. For now I just wanted to say this;

Something significant happened yesterday. I got excited about the story to the point of emotional containment failure. Started cranking up the Rammstein music I used to listen to when I was writing for Asuka back in the day. I imagined that epic air battle over North Korea and I actually started drawing again. I drew and inked the 2nd scene of the 3-scene chapter. I wrote the final scene and I even have a prologue short scene planned. I could have the 3rd scene drawn and inked this week if this holds up.

My big psychological problem right now is that I have made announcements about this chapter before and I don't want to play this up. I'm trying to keep it low key until I have a firm release date. I just think everyone could be so cynical if I did try to whip up any excitement- and they'd be within their rights.

So let me just nurture this thing this week and see where we are in 7 days. I will take some time tomorrow to read everyone's recent posts and commence my big city-to-city whistle stop apology tour. I did skim the comments and you are right. I should have at least discussed it here. I just got to the point where I felt shame about it all after I had talked about finishing the chapter and nothing came of it. My bads.

I compiled another scene this evening. The chapter is 14 pages long so far.

I've been thinking about what Bagh said and I feel pretty scummy about not discussing it here. I think I lost a lot of credit which really sucks when you need people to come around again. Having lost the Asuka/Rei anon board recently, that was a major source for chapter downloads averaging about half of my total download readership. It's starting to feel like I'm gonna be rebuilding the fan base almost from zip. Well maybe not that bad, but it sure will feel good to be back in the feedback rhythm again.

I don't know if I said this before, but this chapter is very NERV/SEELE GENDO/FUYUTSKY/HARDEK heavy. It's also quite short. Page count will probably finish somewhere in the 20s. But I figure that's alright for easing this comic back into production.

I am glad I didn't do this when I was burned out though. As long as I can rebuild the readership, you guys will get a product worth reading. For the coming chapters, I'm really gonna need to be near the top of my game.

I didn't know that 'that board' had gone recently, can't say I'm totally surprised though. Last time I checked it out they seemed to have an issue with spam bots.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with. Might have to do a re-read of the entire thing to bring me up to speed on it.

I echo JC's sentiments; I'm definitely interested to see what the new chapter brings to the table-- and I'll probably do some rereading to get myself back into the zone.

I am relieved to hear from people again. I just got carried away with other stuff (COUGHzootopiaCOUGH) and I needed to realize that that stuff was nothing more than short term candy, not real creative nourishment. I will try to keep it balanced, not totally cut off that other stuff, but EVA-303 really needs to be in the driver's seat from now until its completion. After all, we are down to the last handful of chapters. It would be tragic to let it die now.
