After reading this thread, that anime sounds like a Game of Thrones in space. I think I'll pass :tongue:

So long as what we're getting isn't the mooted remake.

@Stillborn
LoGH, at least for the first 15 or so episodes that I've watched, is nowhere near as grim and edgy.

I really wanna know how much they had to pay for all the LoGH material.
Among the people who use the Internet, many are obtuse. Because they are locked in their rooms, they hang on to that vision which is spreading across the world. But this does not go beyond mere ‘data’. Data without analysis [thinking], which makes you think that you know everything. This complacency is nothing but a trap. Moreover, the sense of values that counters this notion is paralyzed by it.

And so we arrive at demagogy. - Hideaki Anno, 1996

My question is on which version of the story to get: the novels or the anime? As the story has a lot of content (which means paying a lot of money for said content), I can probably afford one but not both.

Nothing of the sort, nowhere near as much sex or violence, though when it does get around to violence, it gets violent.
