Nintendo finally announced the mystery game that we saw a glimpse of a year ago, Pokken Tournament!

SPOILER: Show

The game is an original project being developed by Namco Bandai in collaboration with producers and developers of Tekken and Soul Calibur. It is a 3D fighter coming out in Japanese arcades in 2015. The game's producer, Katsuhiro Harada, has confirmed that not all fighters will need to necessary be Hero Pokemon (Hero Pokemon are what we know as Fighting Types).

Many people were upset by these news, I suppose their hopes were crushed since this is not a console game. HOWEVER, most tekken games first appear in arcades before being ported to systems later. Furthermore, the announcement trailer was in English and was posted on the American Pokemon Channel--As such, there is a very high chance this game will come to Wii U worldwide at a later time.

Yet another reason I need to buy a Wii U next year.

I will wait until next year's E3 to see what the NX is. It might be backwards compatible

Pokken Tournament will be releasing March 18th in the west.

Playable pokemon are: Pikachu, Weavile, Sceptile, Suicune, Pikachu Libre, Machamp, Lucario, Gengar, Gardevoir, Garchomp, Charizard, Shadow Mewtwo, Chandelure, Braixen, Blaziken, And Mewtwo.

Pretty nice roster. Would have liked for Sandslash, Entei, Rayquaza, Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan, Hitmontop, Magmar, Gyarados, Milotic, Palkia, or Giratina to get in, but the current roster still has plenty of my favorites. If they decide to do character DLC for this game they'll make a killing, as they have literally hundreds to add.

Yeah it seems like there should have been more fighting types. Maybe they thought that would be too predictable?

Well, having a lamp as a character in a fighting game is indeed unpredictable ^_^
