Yeah. You read right. This is for everything that doesn't have anything to do with Eva.

Hello,
Well, it is related to Eva, but it is a technical question :
I need to download websites in their entirety,
becausenI am writing a book, and need to access them quickly, everytime,
and moreover I need to be able to search stuff in them easily.
I used winhttrack,
but firstly I saw it does not suck everything be it only in the one domain I gave it
to suck. Secondly, the way internal links are done really sucks sometimes.
Thirdly, I have no clue on how am I to research on it on my disk.
I would use google "qqc site:whatever.com" but it doesn't work for a local site,
obviously. I'm stupid, I hadn't thought of it.
I am not used neither to the software,
May anyone offer its light on the subject ?

Many plain-text editors (I use TextPad or TwistPad, but there are similar free ones) have a "Find in Files" command that will search files (selected by a match on the file name if required) through a whole directory tree.

As for what WinHtTrack sucks - that's highly configurable, and in my experience some experimentation is necessary to get just what you want.

I can think of nothing more focused on your requirements other than a faster Internet connection!

thanks. There is gnome-search-tool which is cool, I tried, though only on plain text for now.
Bet I can't work on pdf or odt, I'll see and tell you.
Back to plain old NGE.

You could try something like: https://code.google.com/p/warrick/wiki/About_Warrick which has the bonus of mining google's cache.
