I'm actually the translator for E-SAKUGA. I will be presenting in Fanimecon coming Sunday May 24 from 2pm to 3pm at Room 4 if anyone of you are interested to learn more about us and E-SAKUGA. You can ask us questions through twitter and FB too! Or, we try to follow this forum post too.

Feedback is welcome!! The book version is great as a collectible, but the interactiveness of E-SAKUGA gives you a more intuitive understanding of how the key frames are animated. In that sense, the two are quite different. (plus, for personal use, you can print) Our goal is to help anime fans enjoy the techniques of creating anime alongside the story and design.
If you get E-SAKUGA, I'd like you to check out the first "About SAKUGA" page. It's the first time SAKUGA was defined by people in the anime industry and then translated into English:) Researchers and animators were involved, and a translator who understands anime (me) translated it. If these books sell well, we will be able to create more. We just started making these and your support is... well... essential. Our primary target is YOU, or anime fans abroad:) If you can help us get known to people outside of Japan, you will be our hero. We believe in the product. We just don't know how to reach out to you yet.
I hope iPhone support iBooks soon...
Thank you! And hope you keep enjoying anime and perhaps E-SAKUGA! And Evangelion, of course:)
EvaQ is actually our second and newest E-SAKUGA. Giovanni's Island was our first one. Giovanni's Island may be more interesting in terms of key frames and techniques employed.
