Brad Bird’s The Iron Giant returns to theaters with two new scenes: http://www.slashfilm.com/iron-giant-rerelease/

Brad Bird’s twitter confirms it.

Hopefully this means a proper Blu-ray release from Warner Brothers.

GET HYPED.

I'm intrigued by the new scenes. But yeah, Iron Giant was the best theatrical flop of the '90s by a wide margin.
Among the people who use the Internet, many are obtuse. Because they are locked in their rooms, they hang on to that vision which is spreading across the world. But this does not go beyond mere ‘data’. Data without analysis [thinking], which makes you think that you know everything. This complacency is nothing but a trap. Moreover, the sense of values that counters this notion is paralyzed by it.

And so we arrive at demagogy. - Hideaki Anno, 1996

I watched this on VHS when I was a kid and was told that the first time I saw it, I panicked so bad my parents had to turn the film off and show it to me when I was older. I watched it recently, though, and for some reason didn't enjoy it as much as I used to. Perhaps this will be a nice excuse to watch it again.

There's one thing I've always asked myself about this movie:

Who the hell names their kid "Zappo"?
