Same here. :highfive:

A little surprised I didn't watch The Birds in any of my college film classes way back when, though I did see plenty of other Hitchcock films.

The Birds is his weakest film, imo. Not much that you missed that wasn't done better in his other films.

It's definitely not his worst. While The Birds is probably Hitchcock's most overrated film (along with Marnie) primarily due to how outdated the effects look and the fact that Tippi Hedren isn't that great of an actress, it still has good pacing, a interesting story idea, excellent photography and is entertaining, though in more a late "late night B-movie" kind of way than is usual for Hitchcock.

Films like Topaz, Family Plot, and The Trouble With Harry are far worse to the point of actually qualifying as truly bad movies. And those are only the films I've seen. He made a bunch of silent films that would have been forgotten a long time ago if they didn't have his name attached to it plus stuff like Mr. & Mrs. Smith and Jamaica Inn that are pretty horrid as well from what I've heard.
