The Shadow ships. Hell yeah :D

Actually I loved pretty much everything about B5 from Season 2-4...5 was a horrible let down, although for understandable reasons. Haven't watched it for years though, so how much of this is nostalgia-tinted I knoweth not!

I remember Sheridan quoting Tennyson right before the final battle against the Shadows.

"One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will.
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield."

This is how the world ends, swallowed in fire, but not in darkness. You will live on, the voice of all our ancestors. The voice of our fathers and our mothers to the last generation. We created the world we think you would have wished for us, and now we leave the cradle for the last time.

Deconstruction of falling stars.

Babylon 5 was the last of the Babylon stations. There would never be another. It changed the future…and it changed us. It taught us that we have to create the future, or others would do it for us. It showed us that we have to care for one another, because if we don't, who will? And that true strength sometimes comes from the most…unlikely places. Mostly though, I think it gave us hope—that there can always be new beginnings…even for people like us.

Sleeping in the light

Babylon five was the first tv show I can remember that assumed I had an attention span. It had an epic story that didn't ignore the third side so often steped on in history, and along the way stoped reminded us that their is more to life then order against chaos.

That cursade didn't make it because of tnt bull shit was a shame.

The Best parts of ST: DS9, then times them by about four or so, and you get Babylon 5

Star Wreck encompasses the full extent of my familiarity with B5.

But B5 doesn't have Garak. DS9 does.

Garek was one of the reasons I actually could stand DS9 later.

What to know what would of made B5 a better show?

Make Sheridan an interesting character.

But you say "He's a great character, what are you talking about?" Bullshit, the man's flatter than an Iowa cornfield. What's the worst thing he ever does? He gets upset when he's lied to? Oh my gawd what a wild man. What a great character!!

You how to make this happen? Make Garbaldi's accusations come true; Sheridan does develop a god complex. He does become the leader of a cult of personality. The fucking guy come back from the dead, with some kind of medieval prophet as his best buddy; why shouldent he start having delusions of Granduer? Hell, he's been Earth's golden boy ever since he destroyed the Black Star, and the first man to take on a shadow vessel and win. Why shouldent some of that go to his head? Why shouldent he get the light of madness in his eyes, like a modern day Alexander the Great.

Thinki of the story-writing opportunities that this would pose. And hell, Bruce Boxleitneiter could of easily pulled it off.

Lorien was great.
Lorien: You heard?
Sheridan: I heard.
Lorien: They need to believe.
Sheridan: Not in me.
Lorien: You can't save them all.
Sheridan: I'll try.
Lorien: You'll fail.
Sheridan: We'll see.

I waited a long time for someone to find me. Now, like the others, I find I hate to leave. But none of us can stay behind this time. That is why it was necessary to find all the remaining First Ones. This is yours now. And you have an obligation to do as we have done. To teach the races that follow you, and when the time comes as ours has, to step aside and allow them to grow into their own destiny. If your races survive — if you do not kill yourselves, I look forward to the day when your people join us beyond the rim. We will wait for you.

Also, Whitestars ftw.

Legend of the Rangers was absolutely terrible, though. I mean, hilariously bad. That goddamn DBZ nonsense...
Tell me, is something eluding you, sunshine?
Is this not what you expected to see?
If you wanna find out what's behind these cold eyes

Rangers was horrid but it was written for sole reason of getting sci-fi to pick up crusade. It almost worked

I'm all pumped up for this movie.
And Legend of the Rangers... That battle scene is beautiful. That is the funniest goddamn thing I've seen in a long time, and totally refutes that Star Wars is too Childish and Corny. (DBZ FIREPOWAH!!!!!!!!!!!)
