Among the people who use the Internet, many are obtuse. Because they are locked in their rooms, they hang on to that vision which is spreading across the world. But this does not go beyond mere ‘data’. Data without analysis [thinking], which makes you think that you know everything. This complacency is nothing but a trap. Moreover, the sense of values that counters this notion is paralyzed by it.

And so we arrive at demagogy. - Hideaki Anno, 1996

Power Rangers R-Rated

HOLY CRAP! I was never a big fan of the power rangers, but this? Holy crap this is awesome!

I really like the dude playing the villain. He reminds me of a younger Ron Perlman.
I’ll escape now from this world, from the world of Jean Valjean, Jean Valjean is nothing now! Another story must begin!

Why hasn't this guy directed a real big budget blockbuster movie? I want to see this dude helm a live action evangelion!

The director is pretty famous as a music video director, and it is obvious he has mainly worked on short productions that focus on flashy visuals. I don't think he would be that good with full feature length - it's a common problem with directors who move from music videos to film.

"Often I get the feeling that deep down, your little girl is struggling with your embrace of filmfaggotry and your loldeep fixations, and the conflict that arises from such a contradiction is embodied pretty well in Kureha's character. But obviously it's not any sort of internal conflict that makes the analogy work. It's the pigtails." - Merridian
"Oh, Oz, I fear I'm losing my filmfag to the depths of Japanese pop. If only there were more films with Japanese girls in glow-in-the-dark costumes you'd be the David Bordwell of that genre." - Jimbo
"Oz, I think we need to stage an intervention and force you to watch some movies that aren't made in Japan." - Trajan

Not necessarily. On one hand David Fincher did pretty good for himself, although he did hit a few bumps on the way out.

On the other hand? Michael Bay. . . :irked:

I've said my piece.

Anyways, yeah the person who directed this deserves a career in Hollywood.

What I want to know is. Are we supposed to take it seriously, or is it an over the top self aware parody of the 'Grim Gritty' reboot?

I got about 4 minutes in and then realized I had a life.

This person had way too much time on their hands.

^ i love game theory not because his theories are in any way true but because these would make amazing rpg/any game stories if you change the names around, i would seriously love it if one day while playing a mario game the rug was just pulled right form under you and one of these theories turned out to be true, it would be really cool.
Then again miyamoto hates story so that will never happen, i can dream though.......or find a way to go to an alternate universe.
one of the two.
