Hey! I liked that movie! And technically he made all of them, btw.BrikHaus wrote:I hope action movies can return to the ultra violence they had in the 1980s.
I don't think they were any more violent back then compared to now.
I would (partially) disagree. While the level of violence in films has not changed much since the early-to-mid '70's, I would like you to see films like Jeremiah Johnson, Excalibur, '70's and even some '80's martial arts films, as well as horror/slasher flicks of the same era and I would argue that filmmakers, as well as most of the entertainment industry, were just a little more daring (and honestly original :( ) back then. However, it is a hell of lot easier to get your hands on assorted smut today, which I think has lead to confusion.TriLink12 wrote:<snip> I don't think they were any more violent back then compared to now.
If that turns out to be the case this time, I would be surprised. The only major anti-China story covered in the West in recent memory was Tiananmen Square and the "Tank Man". And with the advent of the China lobby in the last few decades, it is very surprising someone in the U.S. media would dare to criticize "the People's Republic".AuthenticM wrote:This flick smells like anti-Chinese propaganda.
