Sorry if you guys have heard of this already, but this interesting bit of information just showed up on my Facebook wall:

SPOILER: Show

Apparently Studio Khara is planning to create its own subtitle track for the NA release of 3.33. Is there any confirmation of this anywhere else?

We learned about the subtitle track back in August.

Besides that this is a bit useful as Funimation says they are still working on a release date.

Maybe we will get one soon.

Guess I didn't see that post way back when. I've been more of a lurker since I started school again back in September 2013, after all.

Funi posted this on twitter today in an effort to pass this on as news as most people aren't following every devloment. It ticked me off tbh.

Useful? Isn't that just saying they still don't know WTF they're doing more than year down the road?

I saw the same FB post. It was... cute?

At first I thought they were telling me that there was going to be a special announcement regarding 3.33’s US release during the Toonami screening, but upon actually reading the post it was clear that they were only reminding us of stuff and things that they had told us once before.

That theory of Funimation 3.33 DVD/BD alongside VIZ's Volume 14 manga in February is looking more and more likely... Wouldn't be the first time, with 3.0's Japanese premiere the same month the Volume 13 manga was out.

It's getting pretty tight for BD production for February delivery if they haven't yet fixed a date, I would have thought.

And now Crunchyroll and ANN are picking it up like its a brand new story! Nothing has changed since summer!

I guess most folks couldn't be bothered to watch that video. Geez, if I'd thought it was a damned news item maybe I would have made an actual post back then, but it didn't seem to warrant it. :p

TumblingDown's post merged to this thread: http://forum.evageeks.org/thread/17039/Khara-Subs-for-333/

We already got news about this waaay back in August. It's absolutely nothing new (sadly): http://forum.evageeks.org/post/750147/Official-Rebuild-Dub-Thread/#750147

Funi needs to learn old news is old or this could be their way of saying no 3.33 preview after 2.22 airs on Toonami

I know the pre-order cancellation/delay has been a real hassle for Funi, but I really hope they put in this same kind of effort if/when they get the rights to NGE.

Well Khara's translation department seems to go with the "one-word-per-day" policy.
Bets are on, what's first? News for Final, or an American release date for Q?

Do you honestly believe anyone ANN or CR to have a clue? Most of their news are poorly credited anyways.

Or Funi is just preemptively answering a question that is going to popup along with the news.

Hm. That should shed some light on controversal lines like "Just die!/go down quietly", "You may think that way but the other don't" and whatever Sakura said.

American release date for 3.33 (are we calling that Q now?), then news for Final. Now, let's make things interesting and add an American re-release date for NGE into the mix. I certainly hope we get that before Final/4.0+1.0 news, but I'm not feeling confident one way for the other.

I hope they redo the series and EoE and get rid of Jive Hyuga and have New Ritsuko and New Rei instead of the old ones. I don't like Winn Lee's Rei anymore and New Ritsuko has a husky sexy voice. Old Ritsuko sounds like my caustic aunt, who is not sexy at all. I don't have any sexy aunts. I have a sexy cousin but she's an asshole.

What I'm saying is that they need to redub the originals because the Rebuild cast is better.

Also on my wishlist: Replace Asuka. Spike can stay.
