I'm pretty sure that they used "eien" for eternity in EoE, while in ENT they chose to go with the English term "Infinity", so I guess in that case at least they might have made a deliberate distinction.

Many compared Q to EoE !!

Q is riddled with references to EoE. The ruins of Neo-Nerv really look as though the JSSDF attacked as they did in EoE, particularly with the bakelite flood in the Eva hanger and the craters from explosives and such. I'm really glad the Red Earth Purification Ceremony idea was reinvigorated with actual imagery of a red Earth in the Post-3I world.

There are crazy amounts of references in Q with EoE. For example, Q has Eva 13, while EoE has 13 MP Evas that initiate instrumentality(with the 13th in the center of the geometry). I was going to make a separate thread on this but got lazy.

By the way, the MP Evas continue the same Evangelion numbering. So after Eva-00, Eva-01, Eva-02, Eva-03 and Eva-04, the MP Evas start out at Eva-05 and go up to Eva-13, for a total of nine MP Evas.

The other five Evas don't count as MP Evas, so you can't include them. (Besides, that's 14 Evangelions in total here, not 13)

I understand that, physically, they might not have numbered up to 13. Visually, in that one scene I am mentioning, there was an EVA-13. That one was shown to be in the center of the other MPs and in GNR's neck area(the sacred geometry lines up).

Nyuk nyuk! In any case, I'm not sure what's loldeep about having the Eva Series go up to 13 in both versions, or why it matters if the MP #13 was in the middle. Given the mention of "sacred geometry", I probably don't want to know.

If Eva 13 is in the middle, which is where GNR's neck stump is, Gendo has the the Key of Nez. in the Rebuild series, which noticeably ends at the neck. There's a lot of neck imagery in Q too. I'm not offering a conclusion but rather am just pointing out these that are related and that I consider important.

EDIT I have some important news folks. This is regarding EoE and the loop theory. In lesser terms, you could say this is a point for loop theorists. But in all reality, I showed my friend EoE last night and ran into this.

When Shinji rejected instrumentality in EoE, all these MP Evas went pop with the spear they embedded in themselves.


Then they floated away.


We're given a clear shot of this one with it's core still there.


But then, only 3 are shown to be descending towards earth. The other ones are nowhere to be seen in this scene. (The scene is pretty long too - even as the green instrumentality crosses rise, you still have a clear view of the sky, and you can easily see if anything else falls)



There are 4 adams in the new series right? That's 3 MP Evas... the 4th would be unit 01.

Why do I include 01? Because, assuming the core is intact, the MP Evas have a Rei in them. They all have Rei faces. This one in particular has five Reis in it.


4 Reis for 4 adams(though I have no clue to shoulder what I'm saying into a worthwhile theory)
