+1 for Anno

It just reminds me of episode #16, the one about the Dirac sea.
I never really paid attention but I found the picture of what Ritsuko wrote on the blackboard

Another quick research and I found that VENUS was a detector in an electrons-positrons collider in Japan ( KEK )

So i guess the plots in the anime come from real physics results

However, the more likely reason he wore gloves was to mask the obvious physical evidence that he had fused Adam into his right hand.

For once, Google Translate does a decent job with construing the analysis, and produces something that reads sensibly -- probably because it is quite so mathematical.

Mentioned here since it's now out: http://neweva.blog103.fc2.com/blog-entry-1977.html

Wonder if anything interesting? Apparently there's a little comic strip by Moyoco.

Oooh, I think that we will get a lot of nice fanwankery fuel from these articles, especially the Monitor Graphics parts(at last we will know what this holographic cup of tea is supposed to do!)

Interestingly enough, Takeshi Miyagi has just popped up again on Fuyu's news feed in the chat.
This time in an online interview together with Yusuke Matsui (CG Lead Animator)

This is the only place I could think it would be posted, so is there any confirmed date if/when we'll get a 3.0 CRC?

Any translation about what they say?

It is only about the technical part or do we have some information about the plot or setting?

From Feb 27th to March 3rd there will be a VFX-JAPAN Events. A few familiar faces are showing up.

http://animeanime.jp/article/2014/01/23/17182.html

Studio Khara will have their own talk on March 1st, represented by CGI Producer Heishi Shuichi (瓶子修一) and CGI Director Hiroyasu Kobayashi (小林浩康)

Tetsuo Ohya (大屋哲男) (of Picture Element see above CG World article) and Shinji Higuchi will also be present for a session on Feb 28th.

This will clearly have nothing at all to do with or even a mention of Final. We'll probably never even hear of the results. But at least it's nice Khara is getting near constant attention for their CG work. They also got into yet another CG World magazine issue, Feb 2014, vol.186.

=======================NEW POST=====================
First report from this event: http://www.crank-in.net/movie/news/29618

Since I can't into moon the most interesting thing to note here is what is possibly an image designed to fuck with our heads.

Image

That is Eva-02'γ wielding the Spear of Cassius, which should be impossible as far as we know.

That is definitively NOT 8+2. That is 02'γ. The Eva in the image has the robo arm for the left, and a skinny flesh arm for the right. 8+2 has two fleshy arms with puffy forearms because it it just a repainted 08. For reference: 8+2 http://i.minus.com/iek9JRAriL6Uy.png . The head is also perfectly clear and doesn't have any 08 parts. That is without any shadow of a doubt 02'γ.

As far as Q tells us, 02 was retrofitted into 'γ after Shinji was retrieved. The movie also shows us that it was destroyed at the end. That leaves en incredibly tiny window for 02'γ to exist and pretty much nothing in the plot to allow the opportunity for it to wield a Cassius spear.

The most obvious explanation for this image is that it's just something put together for the presentation and has nothing to do with the plot, but...

It's more likely that it was the initial stages of EVA-02' using the Heat Lance to pierce the Wunder's main Engine, and that they used pre-existing CGI models for that, here being the Lance of Cassius.

It's the same thing than in the initial stages of the preview for FINAL : EVA 8+2 was just EVA-08, and the MP-Evas were in Mark.06's colors.

I really doubt that a simple VFX Events would spoil such an huge plot point of EVA-02' being repaired and using the disappeared Lance of Cassius.

Well I just woke up and didn't think of that. Now that I look at the pose it does seem pretty close to what the Heat Lance scene has.

My initial thought were extremely silly...

Popping into to say I tracked down the infamous August 27 2011 Miki Nagasawa (Maya) interview where she mentioned the content of Q being dark and splitting fan direction. Good thing we have Eva Fan for Japanese news about possibly important stuff! Otsuki Toshimichi was there too.

For reference, the Tokyo event Nagasawa was at coincided with the new 3.0 Next Time Preview (after 2.0's TV version).

This was first mentioned here:

View Original PostMr. Pointy wrote:Just quoting off 4chan, because it's hilarious.

At an event in Tokyo yesterday, Maya's voice actress said that Q will move Rebuild 'swiftly in a grim direction', and is expected to strongly divide the audience. The host of the event said he'd heard that many of the staff working on the film feel that it's 'too dark'.

I desperately want to find a link for this. If it's true, OLD ANNO IS BACK BABY!

**She replied while laughing: "This film has characteristics of both pros and cons!"

    Additional things mentioned about Q:

*Q voice work didn't begin yet. There was no schedule yet.

*Whether or not new character(s) would appear in Q were unknown.

*When the voice actress for Mari was being decided on, there was buzzing among fellow voice actors about new Eva characters appearing.

Evafan has discovered that during the Nov 10th Animator Expo live talk about Dragon Dentist, Tsurumaki and Yoshimichi Kameda mention in passing which parts Kameda was responsible for in Eva Q, which is some part of the Terminal Dogma fight:

http://neweva.blog103.fc2.com/blog-entry-3475.html

Kameda's profile on sakuga wiki seems to have already been updated with this info:
http://www18.atwiki.jp/sakuga/pages/1484.html

There is also a 4-part interview linked Part 1 of which focuses on Kameda's work on Eva

http://animestyle.jp/2014/12/08/8346/

Edit: I have no idea where else to put this and don't feel like making a whole new thread

For future reference here's the complete credit roll for Eva Q in one inconveniently large image: http://i2.minus.com/iXXgyq1FV2AE4.jpg
