Wait, is this the wiki run by You-Know-Who?

Nope. You-Know-Who has nothing to do with this.

Thank you, drinian. I think the credit notice would help as well.

You're the best, Drew me boy. :kawaii:

Going through Blackout's contributions history around the time he imported those articles would probably bring up a lot of instances where he ported our content to preexisting articles. I'm too retarded right now to figure out how to do that, though... I guess I can gradually go through their crap and compile my own list, too.

This one kind of gives us credit, but in a ghetto sort of way.

http://evangelion.wikia.com/wiki/Core

And some more:

http://evangelion.wikia.com/wiki/LCL
http://evangelion.wikia.com/wiki/Evangelion_Unit-01
http://evangelion.wikia.com/wiki/Armisael

Is there any real pattern to what was ported and what wasn't? o_O

I wish the people who wrote the really detailed character stuff (whether for Wikipedia or wikia) would come and help us out... The particular obsessions of the few people who contribute the most to our Wiki is a bit on the glaring side.

It looks like the "Revision history" link needs an "&" changed to "&" in the template. Actually, it looks like wikia encodes the "&" in external links.

Can you provide an example? I haven't tested every link, but revision history seems to work fine from the ones I've tried.

There was also a really good example of the dangers of drive-by editing from an anonymous contributor yesterday:
http://evangelion.wikia.com/wiki/Evangelions
All of the children born in this year only have half-souls, according to The End of Evangelion, SEELE members state this: "the half soul of the Evangelion unites with the half- soul of the pilot"

Is my memory failing me, or is that a complete fabrication? Just curious.

For me, this page's evawiki template: http://evangelion.wikia.com/wiki/LCL

takes me to this page: http://wiki.evageeks.org/index.php?title=LCL&action=history

And it should be: http://wiki.evageeks.org/index.php?title=LCL&action=history

It looks like the template is correct, but the ampersand is being HTML encoded.

You remember correctly, sir! That edit is the sort of thing one expects to find in Rebuild speculation. :hahaha:

EDIT: It now occurs to me, that person is probably very creatively reimagining the line where Seele are all, "Eva-01's pilot, complement humanity with your imperfect ego!"

I've added credits to the template pages. I can't reproduce Ornette's bug.

That should cover everything, right? I'm watching edits to all of these pages now, but it's very quiet over there.

Not sure why it's happening to me but not anyone else. It's the same in Opera, Epiphany, Chromium, Arora, and Konqueror. Here's a screenshot: http://www.tesuji.org/tmp/evawikia_ss.jpg
(My mouse cursor doesn't show up but it's right over the "revision history" and you can see the link in my status bar below. I tried signing up and it still shows up as &

I also tried Safari and Firefox on my girlfriend's Mac, same thing. The thing is, in Firefox, the & gets interpreted as an &, but on the Mac Firefox knew to unencode the & to just a "&" and the link works.

OK, I'm seeing that in Chromium now. Hadn't been paying attention to the status bar before.

I've just made it into an unambiguous "&" in the source, and I'm hoping that will at least work properly in most browsers, even if it doesn't look right.

The only reference I could find to why this would be happening on a MediaWiki install, section "Many errors on validator.w3.org":

http://community.wikia.com/wiki/Forum:Wikia%27s_New_Style

isn't very helpful.

I edited the EvaWiki template so that the revision history URL is built so that it relies on mod_rewrite.

http://wiki.evageeks.org/LCL?action=history

instead of

http://wiki.evageeks.org/index.php?title=LCL&action=history

The first works because mod_rewrite sees the title (everything after the 3rd "/" up to the first ? or &) and does the rewrite of the URI so that it's what it should be.

It's too bad Dream Focus isn't working with us; he's a pretty good editor on Wikipedia, one of the few anime editors I really get along with.

I've noticed some of the pages still have things copy/pasted without credit. :|

2 examples, might poke around more later:

The footnote about how Mitsuishi had breast issues diagnosed as benign is lifted word for word how I wrote it on our wiki years ago, for instance: http://evangelion.wikia.com/wiki/Kotono_Mitsuishi

http://wiki.evageeks.org/Kotono_Mitsuishi

Graves disease and wording character roles as "and many others": http://evangelion.wikia.com/wiki/Yuko_Miyamura

http://wiki.evageeks.org/Yuko_Miyamura

At least some of the information on the seiyuu pages is original research, but copying stuff word for word from us is NOT okay, IMO.

It absolutely isn't okay. How did we deal with it in the past? All the old material in this thread is from before I joined.
