It pains me to admit that I've forgotten about the show. Maybe I'll pick it back up if I can find the time when I'm not watching other stuff.

I have too. . -o-; Been so busy keeping track of other shows or RL things. I'll give my thoughts in here whenever I catch up with it though.

I've only been able to find the series up to episode 9 with English subtitles. Has anyone translated the remaining episodes or know where someone could find them?

Thanks!

The site I've watched it on has all 13 episodes, I just haven't found the time to watch 'em all (I know they're super short).

So, there was apparently a time when Anno would try to go a whole month without bathing......
Among the people who use the Internet, many are obtuse. Because they are locked in their rooms, they hang on to that vision which is spreading across the world. But this does not go beyond mere ‘data’. Data without analysis [thinking], which makes you think that you know everything. This complacency is nothing but a trap. Moreover, the sense of values that counters this notion is paralyzed by it.

Dear Lord! He must smell like a Latrine!

Listen Anno I appreciate your devotion. But take care of your body! His wife must really care for him if she tolerates these kinds of shenanigans.

The thing about the events in these eps is that they're all dated to when Moyoko's manga was published (there are references to Anno and Moyoko's ages, which would put the events of this series at around ten years ago) so for all we know, he could be completely different.

And I'm pretty sure some things might be a little bit exaggerated for comedy's sake. One month without showering seems just too brutal. Nobody in work could have tolerated that, I suppose.

This is a live action adaptation of Kazuhiko Shimamoto's autobiographical manga Aoi Honō. The manga is a semi-fictionalized story of the author's time at college. During his college days, Shimamoto was friends with not only with Anno, but also Gainax founders Hiroyuki Yamaga and Takami Akai. But unlike Insufficient Direction, Anno will not be a main character in this show. He'll be more on the sidelines.

The founding of Daicon Film and subsequently Gainax as well as their timeline up until just post Evangelion could make for a really great film or miniseries and you wouldn't have to focus solely on Anno, even though he'd probably have to be one of the main characters. The whole story about how a bunch of nerds came together and formed their own studio, produced a high-budget, generally praised film and OVA when they were all in their mid 20s, had battles with NHK over Nadia and Anno's subsequent depression/the studio almost going bankrupt all culminating with a last ditch effort that was Evangelion and it saving the studio would be thematic gold as well as a really interesting tale.

If I won Mega Millions tomorrow, I would definitely drop a wad on this. I'm 100% serious.

I just marathoned the flash anime. It was pretty fun. However, as far as my own values go, the only truly embarrassing feature I found there was Moyoko's belief in fortune telling; I couldn't possibly tolerate that, not even from a nicely tamed down otaku wife (guess I'll really die alone)...

Anyway, I also just bought the translated manga. Hope it has more adventures than what was shown in the anime.

Oh my god: that's the series Kojiharu is partaking in. I'm so watching it now.
