On a tangential note, why are this thread and the general convention thread in Anime and Manga? Shouldn't they be in the Fandom area?

Nobody would find them in Fandom (people wouldn't normally think to look there, I think they were in Fandom at one point), and when con threads were in Off Topic, people couldn't find 'em. It was decided that Anime and Manga is the best place to leave con threads after all (if it's something like Comic Con, that's fine in Off Topic).

If Funimation has a panel there, will somebody here bug 'em (as politely as possible, of course) about Eva 3.0's BD/DVD status, assuming they don't bring it up themselves?
I'm assuming Viz's Sailor Moon panel(s?) won't be anything we don't know, but I wonder if they have a rough estimate of when a Sailor Moon Crystal bluray would be out (1st season or not, assuming it ends next Summer, maybe sometime Fall-Winter 2015)?

Plus, last Otakon, Funi said they were re-releasing Cowboy Bebop, Outlaw Star, and Escaflowne in 2014..... 1 year later and we haven't heard another word on the matter.

The strange thing is, I'll bet there will be people who won't be able to go because of one of the following scenarios:
1) They pre-registered, but couldn't get a hotel room.
2) They got a hotel room, but couldn't register at con.
I think we should lock them in a room together and have them fight to the death.

Yup, Trying to get a hotel during a particular Con can be quite the frustrating experience indeed.
That's why you always plan out everything weeks, even months in advance.
On a side note, I actually never been to Otakon before. What's it like? I only ever saw videos
of the convention from past years.

These three shows are exactly what I've been waiting for (well, blu-ray releases, I already have the DVDs). Don't disappoint us, Funi!
