Also, from the one page we can see, it looks like we'll have the ISIK version of Gendo, which is double awesome!

That page is from a one-shot Eva tribute, by the same authors, published on Young Ace in 2010. Anyway, i think there will be a funny Gendo in this spin off, too :D

Scans have been out since yesterday.

It's only 9 pages that don't really give you anything before "MORE IN THE JUNE ISSUE"

The only notable thing is that is has Soryu and not Shikinami.

Since its an NGE project and not NTE, that's a given.
I mean, predictability is the central attraction and the narrative hook that we've all come to expect from the Evangelion franchise. How come Anno can't realize this? Twice? - FreakyFilmFan4ever

Well, I can't complain about more Eva. I just wish that it was more canon Eva.

Nothing to write home about with this spinoff manga? I've been slightly curious about it. Dunno the title of it or where to search Google.

I read a translation of that Italian web site about this. It looks like this new manga is not even remotely serious, especially when you see the expression on Gendo's face.

Other than the new movies Eva hardly seems like a serious series lately.
Its been morphed into the very thing Anno didn't want it to become.

Can't really say until I get to borrow it and read it somehow, but there's one thing I can say I like for now... the artwork! :shifty: Pretty good so far.

Note: I'm no longer the author of the fanfiction "Eva Brothers from Cybertron". I passed authorship to a friend (Lia Dospetti) who's turning it into her own work, while still maintaining homages to NGE and Transformers, as well as Star Trek. I still draw the artworks, though, and I have some fragments of the old fanfic here.

Personally I find it hilarious that in any spin-off where everything is fine, Gendo is revealed to be basically Stan Smith!

Was that really his fate had Yui not died!? By the way, is Yui alive in this spin-off?

So, in case anyone is interested, Dark Horse licensed this title and will be releasing it starting next year.

Does anyone know if we'll get any more English releases of this?
The English books seem to have stopped after just 2 releases and last I checked, there appeared to be 5 books in Japanese.

My guess is the English versions did not achieve the sort of popularity that would warrant translating and publishing the rest of the original work.

Considering the "quality" of the manga, that is hardly a surprise in my opinion
I can see why Gendo hired Misato to do the actual commanding. He tried it once and did an appalling job. ~ AWinters

What about titty-ten? ~ Reichu
The movies function on their own terms. If people can't accept them on those terms, and keep expecting them to be NGE, then they probably should have realized a while ago that they weren't going to have a good time. ~ Words of wisdom courtesy of Reichu

It's a Japanese onomatopoeia for video game sounds that the localization team didn't feel bothered to translate
